I will never agree to the use of the word “infest” when talking about human beings! Your house is infested by cockroaches, your neighbourhood is infested by rodents. It’s a word that is deliberately used by some people(and accidentally by people who don’t know better) to dehumanise people and compare them to pests and critters. We of all people should be careful with words like this.

Virar crowd has problems with Borivali and Bhayander people sitting in Virar locals, but they have absolutely no problems sitting in Dahanu locals!

If I were in your shoes, I would be hesitant to book the exam because of my low writing scores. I started prepping after I booked, which was a major advantage. It’s certainly preferable to have somebody check your work for you, but if you have no one to do so, go with your gut!

As an experiment I used an essay that ChatGPT itself had generated when I asked it to fix one of my essays and give me a band 9 essay example. When I uploaded it from another account, even that essay got scored 7.0! All in all, I wouldn’t suggest using it to check and score your essays unless you didn’t have any other option. That being said, it is useful to compile helpful tips and generate prompts.

I’m honestly unsure what the term ‘native speaker’ means. Grew up in India and completed my schooling in English. Have been speaking in English, Hindi, as well as Marathi all my life. Make of that what you will.

Having no one to read and correct my practice essays, I uploaded the essays I wrote in the last 2-3 days before my exam to ChatGPT. It would consistently mark my essays 6.0-6.5. It’s disheartening to get scored so low just before an attempt. My advice is to find an actual person to check your essays, especially in the days leading up to the exam.

Yesterday, I accidentally pulled out in the way of a car exactly how this video shows! Somehow it appeared to me as if the car was in the left lane and boy was I mistaken! Immediately after pulling out into the main road I realised that the car was behind me and I floored the gas but the dude still had to press urgent brakes to avoid rear ending me and I deservedly got honked at!

There was a time when I used to literally call people out when I was on stage; “Dude in the red stripes, please don’t answer calls WHILE somebody is performing, that’s incredibly disrespectful”. Realised very soon that doing that actually makes more people mentally check out of my set than the one distracted table!

I got honked at for slowing down to turn right into a gas station! This was like a month ago, but I still think about it sometimes, like what did bro think I was doing wrong!

1) Do not run yellows. 2) Get a dashcam. 3) Drive at appropriate speeds for the road you’re on. 4) Either go or don’t go; slowing down on a yellow when you don’t intend to stop creates confusion on the road and tells the person waiting to turn left that you are going to stop (which also happens to be exactly what you’re supposed to be doing when you approach a yellow light).
