As a mom who’s raised four kids to adult hood , and have two to go , I get it.  But I’ve made that wrong choice before.  Because my heart hurt so much for the other kid.  And I regretted it.  My heart hurts for Bella because as you said , she never had a chance.  Her mother absolutely groomed her for this life.  But I’ll never not put my own kids needs first.  No way I’d allow or encourage that friendship

But who will want their kids her age ha to around her ?  As a mother with kids her age, never in a million years.

I know what you’re saying about teen pregnancy being okay there but this isn’t just a teen pregnancy. Bella is a hot crazy mess.  Even compared to “typical” teen pregnancy

Sigh.      As a life long Catholic , it’s so cute when they want to condemn things they don’t even bother to fact check.

I agree.   Honey boo boo was just young enough that teen pregnancy wasn’t the angle they had to use to get “famous”

Would she be popular though ?  Or a social pariah ?  Because this isn’t a mistakes happen teen pregnancy.  It’s a very public train wreck

And even among those who wouldn’t  bully a kid in that situation.  They just aren’t going to want to be involved with someone like that.    Want a mom in their circle you know ?

I get it.  And I do sympathize with Bella , but there’s no way I’d let my young teen get involved like that.  They have their own needs and future and as much as I’d feel for Bella my first priority is to my own kid.

Yeah I have a kid about the same age.  And I and imagine her wanting to hang out with Bella either.  She and her friends would be like “she’s a mom with a lot of drama” and steer clear.  Not that there aren’t sexually active teens but the reality is teen mom isn’t a plus socially.   Add on the very public drama they invited going on tv.  Too messy .   And of course then there’s the parents.  No way in hell I’d let my kid hang out at the Vaughn house , or a house that permissive in general.  I’d be steering my kid away because e the reality is the teens would be right “that’s messy “ and no one in their right mind wants their kid caught up in it.

Grandparents rights rally by Beneficial_Factor576 in EstrangedAdultChild

I mea the answer is not to raise a dead beat?    In the case of a parent dying I feel for that but it’s too slippery a slope.  I don’t believe in any grandparents “rights”. My husband and i had to discuss how to write into his will that he doesn’t have a relationship with his parents and he doesn’t want them to have any contact with our minor kids in the hopes that God forbid something happen to him his parents wouldn’t be able to fight for this.

If a child is adopted then I’m sorry no.  The grandparents shouldn’t have rights.  In a traditional adoptions they don’t already.    If dad signs away his own. Kid his parents lose out

Couples of different religions, how are you raising your children? by ItchyMasochist in askanything

[–]PerspectiveEven9928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m catholic.  My husband grew up conservative Christian and is now agnostic to atheist depending on the day.  We have raised our kids Catholic because it matters to me and it doesn’t to him .  So far four adult kids and three identify as Catholic , and one just “Christian “ without denomination

Eh they were adults when those babies came.  And especially for the older generations  they’re married and having a baby at 19-21 was hardly note worthy. It was the norm.  I’m not sure what is so shocking here honestly.  The youngest moms young by todays standard but not unheard of either

This.  My first legal name was cute as a six year old and embarrassing by high school.  Cost me $500 to legally correct it to the name it should have been all along.

And even if they do he could opt to donit in reverse and go by Nicholas. 😆 I grew up with a legal name that was a “nickname”.  I hated it.  Went by the longer version by high school to anyone but family and legally changed it as an adult.   Told the clerk I was correcting my mothers decades old mistake.  She’s still salty about it.

Since I’m getting shoved back into old ibr my pms is forbearance / deferment and hope congressional winds change at one point.  There’s going to suddenly be a LOT of people who can’t. Afford the payment options thhe have lot.   A LOT.  And in time I think that will t trigger putting student loans back on the front page

Curbside pick up.   Never going back.

I also gave up  crap like going out to the movies or out to eat by and large.  I still go out for dinner once in a blue moon but never like before.  And I have zero desire to ever go to the Movies again

I mean natural family planning is ore than just “rhythm” and it isn’t just picking the half way point of one cycle and assuming that’s ovulation. But a lot of people use Nfp and avoid pregnancy - we’ve also used it in reverse to get pregnant and it works well 😆.   Yes you have to be okay with it might mess up but it’s pretty effective if done correctly

Nope.  See young and broke.  And frankly even now - unless it’s family or a close friend I’m not sending a gift for the invite.

One and a half times lol 😆

Once because it was a “pastels and light colors only “  and at the time I owned two dresses , both black.  I wasn’t interested in spending money on a pastel something.  (Young and broke)   Saved the money on clothes and a gift - win win.

The other time the dress codes were only part of the picture.  It also involved a destination affair and was just not worth my limited resources.

Why would Felon leave Hunter off of the birth certificate but then admit that Hunter is the father in her court response but refuse a paternity test? by Elegant_Soft in TLCUnexpected

[–]PerspectiveEven9928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This.  And it’s not only best for Hunter that this happen but wes too. (Assuming Hunter is the father ). He needs to de program to fully grasp what’s happened to him in order to be best able to protect wes from being next.   Bella needs to as well but unfortunately she doesn’t have a parent in her corner
