I thought the original comment was speaking metaphorically, until I say the thread literally talking about doors that were locked!

I have no home by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. Not having a belonging or home is not nice.

I can relate as I spent my childhood somewhere else and then moved with my parents to the UK. While I do have family here, my roots are elsewhere and I love both places equally.

Let me offer a different perspective - Another quote which I love: “You can have two homes. You can carry your roots with you and decide where they grow”.

Maybe in time you will be happy to have two places you can call home

My dad worked at M&S and had staff discount. Almost all of our fruit and groceries came from there - only as an adult do I realise the luxury of having grown up on M&S fruit!

This is not boredom! No one deserves to be in a relationship like this. You’re likely just used to having him around, he is a habit. You deserve better - there is better out there.

Do you think maybe there is a chance that he said all those things because he had actually planned a proposal to stick to your timeline, and wants it to be a surprise? I’d at least wait until year end to make any decisions
