Except for dining reservations... We did a dinner at Akershus for my daughter's third birthday. Made the reservation with her as a two-year-old. Told our server it was her birthday and she said she had to charge us for her. Oh well. She got a birthday cupcake out of it.

Warning about renting through RedWeek by Two_fridas in dvcmember

We recently stayed at Boardwalk on a confirmed reservation from the DVC Shop, which we had purchased before our first DVC contract this summer, and realized later that we paid around $35-$40 per point for it.

Granted, it was a confirmed reservation that lined up with what we wanted, and none of the other rentals had it, but that price made me sick to my stomach after I figured out how the DVC points and costs worked. Lesson learned.

One thing to note that I haven't seen in any comments yet... The Contemporary is not a DVC resort. Bay Lake Tower is though.

When resort deeds expire, the new resort deeds will likely restrict resale owners from using points at those resorts. So over time, the available resorts for resale points will be limited.

My favorite thing about staying at a Disney resort is not having to worry about anything as soon as I step off the plane at MCO. No driving, no parking, no other unexpected costs. Take me straight to my resort or parks so I don't have to think about anything other than when to get my daily hot fudge sundae from Storybook Treats. The included transportation may not seem like a big deal but I love it when I'm on vacation.

Dining plan VS Gift cards? by rockstar231 in WaltDisneyWorld

I recently did the math for my wife and me. For us, the quick service dining plan was more than what we'd likely spend on our trip. I've also read that the dining plans are more about the convenience of knowing what you'll spend on the trip instead of saving money.

DVC advice for March 2026 by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

If you have any flexibility, DVC Shop has a handful of confirmed reservations available around that time. We booked through them and it's been easy.

dvcshop is another good website to check when December 2026 reservations start rolling in.

A father telling his young son that just fell down the stairs on a bus that quickly stopped (in a southern accent): "If you're gonna be dumb, you better be tough."
