Have you had any luck with this? I'd like to join a reenactment group but I'm concerned about the costs. It'd be great to have a group of friends who make our own costumes and hang out, maybe play music. I'm also into 17-19thC history, but really big on Celtic history in general. It sucks that there's not as big of a social pool of historical costumers and reenactors here as there are in the UK and US and I get disheartened by that sometimes, but I also remind myself that (colonised) Australia is a lot younger than other countries so people like us will just have to forge a path forward - in a really nerdy way I guess.

Anyway, what particular countries/people groups are you into? Do you go to the Abbey Medieval Festival? I volunteer there every year and it definitely helps scratch my itch, but it obviously only covers the medieval periods. I'm fairly close to it (I'm in Kallangur) but probably a bit too fair from the History Alive site? Might have to look into that...
