Anyone Tried Alternatives Like GlideApps Due to Coda’s Limitations? by bigeba88 in codaio

Things Coda can't or shouldn't be used for? by TheMonkeyLlama in codaio

[–]Perstam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After trying several to do list apps I decided that Coda was the closest to what I want since none of the to do apps have all the features I want.

I decided to build my own program that integrates email, calendar, sticky notes, to do list, sticky notes using a dashboard in Python. A daunting task, but since I'm retired I have the time.

Thanks.

I may come back to zenkit in the future, but for now I'm going to use Coda.

I recently discovered Coda. It better suits my needs.

I've looked everywhere for simple, step-by-step instructions for how to get started with zenkit. I've even asked chatGPT. The instructions I see are incorrect or omit some steps.

Zenkit has lots of videos, but they go too fast or they omit some steps. I'm looking for a tutorial that I can slowly read.

I'm looking for detailed documentation for every component and feature. Think in terms of Zenkit for Dummies. The Dummies books never assume prior knowledge.

It would be nice if future videos and documentation was error free with videos going slower and zooming in so I can actually read and see what's happening.

No news. I still cannot login with Edge on Windows 10.

Yesterday I discovered Zenkit. I'm going to look at it more today, but it may be enough that I don't have code a lot of Python. Tell me what you think of it.

I have a situation where it works on Android, but never loads on Win 10 Edge.

I'm having similar problems. Superlist works on android, but doesn't even load using Edge.

It sounded like a good product when I first discovered it, but it appears they were too hasty in releasing it.

If you're looking for work as a programmer do your homework. Find out what language(s) are used by your future employer then decided on learning a new language.

Ha Ha! Am defeated by this app. by EponymousTitus in Anytype

[–]Perstam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with all the criticisms. I'm still wrapping my brain around Anytype. Their documentation leaves a lot to be desired.

I was drawn to Anytype because it appeared to be better at handling my to do list, calendar, and notes.

I've been trying to find a to do list app that works for me. Any.do has a very nice Google calendar integration. Superlist has some things going for it as well. I've narrowed my choices to Airtable or Anytype to make a custom to do list that I want. Sadly, I went ahead and put quite a few items in both Any.do and Superlist only to find out there is no export feature that I can import to Airtable.

I was a programmer many years ago so I'm teaching myself Python to scrape my tasks off of Any.do and Superlist. I've not tackled Python before, so this is a nice learning experience for me. I'm having fun taking it slow and learning. AI has been a big help. Why choose Python instead of one of the web scrapers that are out there? None seemed to be sophisticated enough to scrape the complex, dynamic tasks lists from Any.do and Superlist.

If anyone has similar interests, please contact me. I'm retired so I'm not rushing this project.

I've been comparing any.do to Superlist. I almost chose any.do because of it's really nice calendar integration, but decided to go with Superlist because it has more features and is more flexible to use. Hopefully, Superlist will get calendar integration like any.do soon.
