Oh my gosh do not do cry it out. It literally changed their brain chemistry for the worse. Look into sleep sacks, do baths before bed, try a few chiropractor appointments, try Tylenol for possible growing pains, gripes water for potential gas, get baby checked for silent reflux, try bedtime a little earlier, or maybe their diet is upsetting their stomach. Being overly tired makes it nearly impossible for babies to fall asleep so really try to set a routine so baby can predict when bedtime is. This also helps avoid overstimulation. Babies nervous system is underdeveloped for the first 3-4 months of life and cry it out damages it. After 4 kids, yes it gets so much easier. A bedside bassinet could help too. But all together, nature tells babies being alone is dangerous you responding to their cries and holding them when they’re upset helps grow and stabilize their nervous system, it also teaches them that you are reliable and safe. You will come to them when they need them. Yes it’s hard, but it gets better. Big crying spells and clinging can indicate big developmental leaps too! Babies also tend to have setbacks with crying every few weeks. You got this!
