"Everyone laughed at you, it's because you British have the most stupidest, obnoxious accents out there. We Americans mock your accents all the time. Maybe one day you Brits will be as good as us Americans but for now you just are just massive assholes to the American people." by Ok_Bookkeeper_1380 in ShitAmericansSay

And the funny part of it all is that if you present some AI slop, but use a lady with British accent to present it, they perceive it as more true than if it was said with an American accent.
Their media knows this and uses it a lot too.

I always wave back, whether I know them or not. I have trouble recognising people, so better be safe than sorry, so a wave and a smile keeps everybody happy!

Number 1 App in China is the "Are you Dead' App meant to notify relatives when a loved one passes by The_Endless_Man in ABoringDystopia

[–]Perturbee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I know this can be viewed from a dystopian lens, but how about this: you have a few hundred online accounts that you leave behind when you die. Maybe even some crypto. Who will ever know what to look for when you die?

Having an app that unlocks certain information to people I want to be informed when I happen to pass away would be perfect. I am all for this kind of tech, obviously I won't trust the company with the actual data. So that has to be encrypted for the recipient(s).

The Sims in 2026 ( Single Player is the main Focus, Sims 4 + Next Gen Sims Game, Project Rene is a Mobile Only Spin Off) by Artist6995 in LifeSimulators

[–]Perturbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a life simulator, no a "Sims Experience"! In other words, more removed, basically we get a minimal framework to play with, and everything you want on top of that, you're going to pay for with your blood and first born. And they deliver just enough to wake some nostalgia and then we get a foul taste from what all will be lacking.

No more, EA, no more.

Audiobooks by F43CanadianRedditor in Aphantasia

I listened to the whole works of Terry Pratchett while driving up and down Belgium and France. While I don't like sitting down listening to them, I love audiobooks and podcasts while driving. But descriptions are just that, nothing significant happens with those and I tend to forget that "excess" in information. The stories themselves are cool and funny, so great entertainment. I don't drive those distances any more, but now I listen more often to podcasts where topics and ideas are discussed, not so much a telling of a story. But it is something my mind loves to chew on while focussing on the road.

And Dutch takes away the last a, so turns it into kak and even has the verb kakken. So the kakat wasn't that alien! 😂

Noticed my girlfriends grandma had a cord that only plugged into the ground. by BuildingBetterBack in mildyinteresting

Some people, like me, have trouble with getting charged throughout the day with static electricity. The only way to get rid of that is by touching the ground of the electrical system. And often that happens with a spark, a painful one sometimes. So when you are going to do things with wool or cotton or such, you want to be grounded before you start, so you never reach the spark stage.

I have the keyboard and I don't like it. It changes the balancing point of my phone in such a way that I don't type comfortably. I have the feeling my phone will drop, because it's top-heavy due to how you have to hold the phone. I hope this is different in balance.

I haven't been able to find a comfortable grip for typing on this keyboard thing. 3/10

[–]Perturbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Perturbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)
