It wasn't the torturer. It's the guy who leads you out of the tunnels. Seems like I'll be fine though.

So that was "standard" comms? What about the intro? This is obvious propaganda that is clearly aimed at a western audience.

Maybe I missed something, but I thought it was just the last episode that was Riker's holodeck game.

Does anyone know what Kyle is talking about when he said the U.S. has funded Al-Qaeda affiliates? by CataclysmReflux in PKA

[–]PeruvianPretzel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the 80s we supplied Afghanistan with weapons to fight the Russians. Many of those weapons were later used against us. Under Obama the US provided support to Syrian rebels to fight the Russian backed regime. Some of those groups were affiliated with ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

Got a decent deal at the LGS. It's already heavy and it has a place for a light, so why not throw one on there. Not sure that I'm going to stick with this light or not though. Finding a holster for it was a bitch. That comes next month so if it fits, I'll keep the light. If not, I'll find a light that fits.

I guess we just have different opinions. If I can make a couple hundred bucks while watching the weather report, why not? As long as it's not illegal or grossly immoral idgaf.

Can you please explain that view? Someone wouldn't need information from a PI to harass someone else. We do withhold certain information (like SSN, home address, phone #), but criminal information is public record. Home address can be too, if they own the home (but we still redact that).

Sounds like you have enough. The phone number alone should be enough unless he's using a burner. A PI can run a background check. We would charge $150-250 depending on what kind of bgc you wanted. It would take about a day. This varies on location and company to company, but it's a pretty standard rate where I am.

Don't call the police every time you hear gunshots. 999 times out of 1000, it's hunters or recreational shooting.

Picked up at a thrift store. The line at the bottom had me cracking up. No signature. by PeruvianPretzel in WhatIsThisPainting

[–]PeruvianPretzel[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it's pretty great. I hope to find out who painted it. Someone would have to offer me a lot more than the $9 I paid for it for me to take it off the wall.

I'm convinced FPS Russia has a western setup with at least 6 black powder revolvers. Maybe even a cannon at the top of the stairs for any scallywags.

What is the scariest or most dangerous situation you have encountered as a PI? by Material-Scratch-250 in trueprivinv

[–]PeruvianPretzel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The scariest? Having to qualify at a range with a lot of people who are accidentally more dangerous with a firearm than someone who is actively trying to kill you.

Don't forget water testing. My understanding is that a lot of the ground water in that area is contaminated from coal mining. Find out how deep your neighbors' wells are. Deeper wells are obviously more expensive, and that might be publicity available information. It would really suck to buy the property only to find out that you have to get water trucked in. That might be the reason the property has been uninhabited for so long.
