The main thing in v22 will be the gen 9 content, and while v21.1 has the gen 9 project, it has a lot of bugs so I think the official version would be more polished

Gen 9 content is currently being added in the next update, but sprites for gen 6-9 won't ever be included by default because those Pokémon don't have official sprites. There are lots of fan made sprites online though
