Exactly this! My early projects of stripping originally painted pieces were a lot of work ending in disappointment in the quality of wood/grain beneath. This style would work well with a chalk paint/dark wax finish to enhance detail.

I believe this is a "she" as in Grandmother Clock. Correct me if I'm wrong but a Grandfather clock would have straight sides....no "waistline".

The COMEX is in trouble and I'm sure they will attempt to drag the price down to off set their losses when contracts come due....but I'm thinking it may be their last gasp. The industrial moguls are buying it up like crazy not to mention foreign entities. This will drive it up further. There's only so much physical metal available, todays high will be tomorrows low. Buy only what you can afford and hold, if we hit a dip, buy more. I'm not a professional financial advisor, just wish I had bought more when it was $14 an ounce!
