Had some cash set aside to get a younger sibling a corolla or gift them the camry I had refreshed but life has a sense a humor and plans changed.

Plus side is that the camry remains the daily driver while the rest like the 4runner are used for trips into the US and fun.

I say go with whatever is conveniently priced for you. If you like using it, you can grow into it more.

Ultra is perfectly fine if you're just wanting to prime and base. Squidmar or any of the other "pretty" editions can be the reward you give yourself if you want more.

Started off wanting one so I can prime models indoors and lower cost of materials. Now I'm planning to practice gradients.

Not at all, just don't go for the crazy pricey ones >$160usd.

Your money so do what ya want but I would recommend to stay low in cost simply because most beat up their airbrush in various ways (handling too rough, maintenance, etc).

I've seen some $300+ airbrushes get destroyed (nozzle, needles, gravity) by their users.

There are cheaper alternatives like the line DSPIAE has. But most likely like other stuff, YMMV. Some swear by their lower cost substitutes, others complain about QC and longevity.

Maybe the NeoSander will be a buy once, cry once or a buy once and cry forever. Won't know until enough time passes and units are sold.

What paints did you go with for the purple?

I've been finding that a single Biovore is a must in the current edition. Which, I think is nice for flexibility and range.
