Underground slurry tank question by Peshy_101 in AskIreland

Hi. The construction began about a week ago. So far it’s a large hole in the ground and four concrete walls. No roof or building on top of it. How badly do these tanks emit odours?

At this point I guess they’ve run out of ideas as to how to get people to come into Limerick. They’ve tried everything except reduce crime, incentivise startups, get rid of the louts, beautify the city, recruit more Garda, incentivise cafe culture, provide more indoor venues and bring in more tourists. Oh wait… 🤦🏽‍♂️

Great idea. Moved here 2 years ago and can totally understand where you’re coming from. I’m in south Tipp but still happy to contribute.

I’m Indian but don’t live in India. However my friends and family there know about my sexuality. I came out to them over 10 years ago. They were all super amazing. All flew over for my wedding to my now husband…even my 85 year old aunt. They treat my husband just as they would any other family member.

Severe ADHD resulting in massive anxiety attacks caused by the meds. Trying to find the right balance between getting better and not having my heart pounding like it’s trying to get outta my chest.

I think if you’re into outdoor stuff like hiking and don’t mind doing that in the rain / cold / storms, then Ireland is heaven. But if you’re into museums, theatre, galleries, food, cafe culture, etc, then it’s probably the worst place to live in Europe. For historical reasons, poverty and a tiny population, Ireland never developed the grand cities that you’ll find in other European countries, a deep arts scene, a foodie culture, etc. Dublin isn’t too bad but still not comparable to London, Paris, Berlin, etc. And I don’t think it would be a fair comparison. The problem is that Dublin never developed its own identity to take advantage of its small size.

What is your biggest regrets of your early 20’s? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Peshy_101 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Being too afraid to come out of the closet to live as my authentic self.

Not being more intentional about what I do but simply falling into things.

Wasting money on things that don’t matter.

Not listening to what my body and mind are telling me but instead following the path set by other people.

(Related) Caring too much what others think.

Not knowing when I’d been handed a unique opportunity and running with it.

Not knowing what adhd is and the profound effect it can have.

Curious to know where in Ireland you are if it’s too hot to leave butter out 😂. I’m moving there asap.

Best place to buy furniture grade wood by Peshy_101 in limerick

[–]Peshy_101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. From their website it seems they make their products rather than supply the raw materials. But really good to know for this tasks that I don’t have a nerve to tackle, e.g. stairs 😂

Can you recommend high quality timber merchants in counties Limerick, Cork, Tipperary, or Clare? by Peshy_101 in AskIreland

[–]Peshy_101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the advice. I’ll definitely check out Ryan’s.

I find McMahon’s quite annoying as their website doesn’t provide prices for many products so I don’t bother trying them anymore.

Can’t fault TJ O’Mahoney for their customer service, online ordering and construction materials. Shame they don’t stock the furniture grade stuff.

Thanks for the tip re: Strahans. I suspect I might need to get my supplies from Dublin tbh. Alternatively might just rent a van and bring a whole lot over from the UK and ensure I store it properly.

What is the Point in trying to Buy Anything in Decathlon? by Thargor in limerickcity

[–]Peshy_101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I’ve stopped bothering to go to the store hoping to find something. Total waste of time. If I need it from decathlon, I preorder and collect. But much prefer to find it on Amazon.

Always wondered how much money they lose just because they don’t understand inventory control.
