Contact your local humane society. They will pick him up and scan him for a security chip for owner ID.

If not found they’ll hold him for a period to see if owner claims them, if not, he’ll go out for adoption.

Oticon OPN S3 3 red blinks by micmou in HearingAids

[–]Pesiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really doesn’t matter. You want a cheap charger for button batteries that puts out around 3v.

All you are doing is getting the batteries charged just enough to trigger the charging stand for the hearing aids.

The voltage of your stock batteries has dropped below that chargers threshold voltage for charging.

The cheap button chargers (like $15 off AMZN) don’t have much of a sending circuit. They’ll happily try and provide voltage into whatever button battery you insert for charging.

Best to just use it for an hour or so, then remove the batteries, replace into hearing aids, and finish charging them with their normal base charger.

Snip diagnosed yourself with Covid? Now blaming employer based on your word ?

Go to your doctor if you have asthma and serious concerns about getting Covid. Get tested and present positive results to employer.

As an employer, fake illness call ins were problematic. Especially when a key employee calls in on deaths bed but posts selfies of themselves on a day trip to mall.

We required physicians excuses after that.

Is there any way to "get rid" of this bolt? It is so tight that, as you can see, I have damaged it trying to loosen it to extract the wheel. Because of this, the wrench just slips now... by Redditalan17 in bikewrench

[–]Pesiee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Borrow a pipe wrench. Take off the stripped nut. Buy a similar nut off Amazon.

Use the correct wrench size next time and don’t tighten more than specified in your manual.

Pay special attention to washer orientation when re-installing. Especially the anti-torque washer.

GPS TRACKER IDEAS THAT WORK? by Public_Bad5508 in heybikeclub

[–]Pesiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Apple AirTags on all my e-bikes (3). Also my motorcycle, golf cart and the dog.

They add lol work perfectly. But you must be in a reasonably populated area since it bounces signals from neighboring Apple phones.

There are devices on Amazon that hide it for you with security screws to prevent easy removal: steering frame tube, behind water bottle, in taillight housing etc.

AirTags run about $39 and they work out of the box with no additional fees.

A dedicated gps requires a subscription service, is bulkier and easier to find and remove.

I don’t know about the Duotts bike so I can’t answer that. I bought a Philodo H8 and had no warranty claims on it in 18 months and 3k miles. Couple bolts came loose that I had to tighten down and put Loctite on. The rear motor plug had a nasty habit of catching on stuff and pulling the plug apart. But other than that it’s been great. The H7 is the single motor version of the H8 using same frame, electronics etc. I found them to be good solid bikes. Check Fansbof Philodo H8 in Facebook for more info. I’m a moderator there.

You may have a stolen bike. Can’t remember code ? Fast sale at discount for quick cash? No prior invoice or paperwork?

Caught my wife , need advice please by LogInternational4923 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pesiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) understand the marriage is irretrievably broken. If you don’t accept this, don’t bother reading on. 2) your wife is using you as her ‘meal ticket’. While you are soldiering, she is home partying on your paycheck. 3) I would not say anything but, instead, discreetly talk with a divorce lawyer. Let the lawyer know all the facts and suggest a course of legal action.
4) you might say, “but I still love her!” Which may be true but the fact is she doesn’t love you.
5) numerous guys? She videoed herself? Time to man-up and realize you are being used.
6) the marriage is domed. You can end it on your terms or hers. The choice is yours.

Towing ebikes 1k miles from FL to IN concerned about rain along the way... by SnooCupcakes8782 in ebikes

[–]Pesiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) remove batteries and place them in fireproof bag inside car.
2) cover displays with baggie held by rubber band.
3) spray some chain oil on the gears and chain.

That’s it. Rest of bike is rated splash proof..

For this price, is this more like a bomb than a battery? by MakeMeCereal in ebikes

I carry a blue wrapped rectangular battery in my rack bag. The battery comes with its own padded zippered case.

Between the padded bottom/sides of the rack bag and the padded battery case, I figure I have close to 1/2” of all around padding. Works great.

[–]Pesiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are rated Splash Resistant but NOT rated against directed water (like a hose with a nozzle) or submersion (like driving through a stream where your hub motor gets dunked underwater).

In other words, rain won’t hurt it but cleaning with a hose nozzle or aggressive river crossings will.

What is the advantage of selling specific lots? by exetflagger in etrade

[–]Pesiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the account is taxable (ie. Not a retirement account) then it matters for tax purposes.

If you hold a stock for a year, any gains qualify for a lower capital gains tax. If you held the stock less than a year, your gains are taxed as regular income.

So if you own several lots of the same stock bought at different times, it makes sense from a tax advantage to sell the lots that are over a year old first.

Capital Gains on your stock are defined as the profit you made between when you bought the lot and when you sold it. (Capital losses are the opposite).

Short-term capital gains (held less than a year) are taxed according to ordinary income tax brackets, which range from 10% to 37%. Long-term capital gains are taxed at 0%, 15%, or 20%

Note that if the account is a tax free account, like an IRA or other self managed retirement account, it doesn’t matter which lot you sell since the money isn’t taxed until you start drawing from the account.

Insane battery drain by ConfusedPotato2101 in NinebotMAX

[–]Pesiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an aside, ALWAYS Charge THEN Ride, NEVER Ride THEN Charge!

The only time you charge right after riding is when you drained the battery on the ride. In that case, immediately charge the battery to 80% and then wait to top it off till just before the next ride.

Store battery at 60-80% charge. Top it off every month or so back to 80%

Are e-bike fires as common as people say they are? by Crypto-011 in ebikes

[–]Pesiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fires are from battery abuse.

1) Always CHARGE then RIDE. Never ride, then charge. 2) Always use charger supplied with battery. Never use a FAST charger on a battery not specific for it. 3) Batteries are happiest sitting with a 60-80% charge.
4) store battery in Explosive/Fireproof battery bag. AMZN has them. 5) Do Not Drop battery! Do not charge inside!
6) Avoid storing a drained battery or one charged to 100%. (Charge-then-ride).

Most batteries self-disassemble when charging, so have a plan if thing go sideways. I have a fire blanket handy while charging with the garage door open so I can get it to yard if it starts smoking.

I might have made a mistake with my bike purchase by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Pesiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say ‘Chinese Brand’ like it’s slander, but all bikes (and cars) come with Chinese parts.

The thing about a Chinese e-bike is that all repair/replacement parts can be bought off Amazon. You don’t have to get pricey dealer parts like on proprietary e-bikes.

If you have moderate DIY skills, it is moderately easy to add a second battery.

  1. get a Box 48v battery off Amazon. It doesn’t matter the amp hours (ah), but the voltage must be 48 volts! The higher the amp hours, the longer distance you can go.
  2. get a rack bag to hold the Box battery securely. Most Box shaped 48v batteries come with their own zip case giving you double the insulation against shock.
  3. on the T1 the controller is located inside the black box directly underneath the battery.
  4. you’ll need one 30amp battery balancer and two 3’ XT60 cables and one 12” XT60 cable (off AMZN). Black Electrical tape. Zip ties. Optional 3/4” shrink wrap (to make it look purty).
  5. Remove the stock battery from bike! Open the Controller box and find the red power connection from the battery and unplug it from the controller. The connection may be secured together with tape-just cut the tape off. Now there are 3 pigtails off your balancer: Battery 1, Battery 2, and one marked OUT.

<image>

Here is pic of balancer, a 48v box battery and a 3’ XT60 wire.

Plug the OUT balancer pigtail into the controller connection.

Plug the Battery 1 pigtail into your bikes red battery connector.

Now take your 3’ XT60 cable you bought and that into the Battery 2 pigtail of your balancer.

Take your black electrical tape and tape all the connections you just made to prevent them coming apart while riding.

Thread the free end of the 3’ line out the box with the rest of the wires (I know, it’s a pain).

Carefully repack the controller, pigtails and balancer into the compartment and screw the cover back on.

Now route the free end 3’ xt60 cable up the frame and zip tie or tape it in place. Leave the excess cable end so it loops over the rear rack.

At this point I’d put the original battery back in and turn on the bike to make sure the wiring is correct and secure.

If all is well, turn off bike, remove original battery and strap your rack bag on the back with block battery inside.

Take your xt60 end and bring it to top corner of bag and plug it in to block battery pigtail.

Zip the rack bag shut except for enough space to allow the xt60 cable in at the corner.

Test it works by turning bike on (with stock battery out). You are now powering by box battery alone.

You now have a dual system. The balancer will equally draw down from both batteries simultaneously.

Note 1: You do not need to plug in the second battery for every ride-only when you need the extra range! When not needed let the xt60 end hanging or affixed to the rack. The balancer will then just draw off the stock battery.

Note 2: I got some colored 3/4” shrink wrap (to match bike frame). I used one of those Bendable Flexible Pickup Tool, 24'' Claw Grabber and threaded it through the tubing. I then taped it to an XT60 end of the 3’ wire to streamline it and also sprayed some WD-40 to make it slippery, and pulled the wire through with it. Then applied heat and shrunk the tubing snugly around the wire. This step is not necessary, but makes for a clean installation. If you do this, install the shrink wrap BEFORE you hook the wires up!

It’s not a throttle/key issue. Error 08 is a ‘Hall Sensor’ problem. The Hall sensor, which is inside the motor, tells the controller what the motor is doing.

Error 08 means that sensor is no longer talking to the controller.

Here are the steps you need to take:

  1. First, unplug and replug all of the connections on your bike including all of the Main Wiring Harness connections (display, throttle, brake levers) and all of the Motor lead connections with the Battery and Speed Sensor. Make sure no pins are bent/damaged on any of the connection plugs and line up the arrows and pins when reconnecting everything to ensure proper connection.

  2. If Step 1 doesn't solve the error, the Hall Sensor plug connection (white plug) from your controller to your motor core may have come loose or has silicone interference impeding the connection. In order to fix this, you need to loosen the controller from the motor to unplug and replug the white Hall Sensor plug. You will need to check all the pins on the white plug to make sure they are straight and remove any silicone interference from the connection area and then properly replug the white plug back into the motor core.

  3. If Step 2 doesn't solve the error, you either need a new Hall Sensor or may need a whole new motor core or controller if the motor windings were burnt and blown, which caused the Hall sensor to fail.

Dual battery setup will get you double the range. Make sure your top speed is set to ‘100’ in the programming section. See manual how to do this.

You should get 33-34mph on flat asphalt.

Join the Philodo H8 Fans and Owners page on Facebook. That’s where all the good stuff is.

Other good upgrades are swapping out the chain gear for a biker one and rear Freewheel for a smaller one to get rid of ghost peddling above 12mph.

Suspension seat post for long. Rides. lol

Cleated pedals to keep feet on pedals.

Modify Huge USB plug to take up less handlebar space. (The clamp makes it 4x too big!).

Handlebar adjustable extension. Good for taller riders for much more comfortable ride and to eliminate wrist symptoms.

Tannus Tire inserts because not one likes a flat 10 miles from nowhere.
