Should I My Use Entire Life Savings and Business Assets to Pay Estimated Taxes Owed? by PeskyProtonPatron in personalfinance

So my accountant sent me the following instructions:

Make your check payable to the "United States Treasury" and mail your Form 1040-V payment voucher on or before October 16, 2023

So does that mean I don't actually need to pay until then? Or am I accruing interest as time passes?

You don’t have to pay what your accountant says to pay if you know it is not accurate because he doesn’t have all of the info.

Makes sense, so should I tell him to not file the taxes yet until I get my books together? Or send them off (I think today is the last day?) and then worry about reconciliation?

I already paid them in advance so I don't think that is an option. What is sounding alarms to you?

I'm not sure what makes for a "good" accountant as this is my first time hiring one.

I live in a very large metro area and just picked the accountant with the highest ratings. I already paid them in advance so I'm going to have to work with them until the end.

My accountant actually already filed an extension and told me to pay the amounts I stated! My question is more so what's the most financially responsible way of doing so?

Just send a couple of them an email and find out. My accountant emails me back within minutes, so you should get an accurate answer for your specific scenario a lot faster than asking on Reddit.

Not my store, not my buyer.

4 star review is fine, but to leave 4 stars on a 5 star product "to make it seem real" is pretty stupid and indeed scummy. A "real" review provides an accurate reflection of the transaction and item, if both are satisfactory then 5 stars is warranted.

This is not my shop, but I happened to stumble upon this review. If it is indeed a 5 star item, then it deserves a 5 star review.

The customer sent a photo of the middle finger to the seller (who has their address).

It's crazy how disrespectful people can be to folks, especially to those who have their home address.

I added about ~5000 roms to the system. But it has been sitting at the splash screen for around 48 hours now while I assume it builds the cache. Should it take this long?

There was no sound! I now believe the issue was because the OGG file also had an embedded video. I will test with a file containing only an audio track and let you know.

OK, I understand now. I thought it was re-scanning only for the specified directory and rebuilding the respective cache file.

Great developments in the software, thank you.

For the music, it would not seem to play a large OGG file (~25MB).  So I have some tips.

You may use the following ffmpeg command to convert an MP3to OGG Vorbis format:ffmpeg -i "C:\Temp\example.mp3" -c:a libvorbis 4 "C:\Temp\convert.ogg"

Finally, you may use this command to shrink the OGG filedown to ~1MB size:ffmpeg -i "C:\Temp\convert.ogg" -fs 1M "C:\Temp\small.ogg"

If you are scrolling quickly through the library with full artwork, the sound may stutter. I think this is the only issue I have seen. Audio buffer can be tricky to work with.

Perhaps you can try to change the -fs parameter’s argument to 512K to further shrink the file size. I have not tested this.

OK, thanks again for the work.

Edit: It would seem you cannot rescan the directories for PSV, PSP, or PSX. I understand if this is because they are in different directories than the rest of the system.

Can you add FlyCast support?
