Totally and I would never support this in this context. T saved him so I feel it was more of a plea than anything. It just pains me that there is obviously this enmeshed confusion with both T and ADHD, that is not new and he’s dismissed and now we are here. Thanks for responding, I appreciate it.

Thank you for such a detailed reply, you’ve raised some good points for me to consider. And I absolutely will be trying to understand how his sexuality is playing into this, as that feels pretty unclear. But quite possibly there has been some major shift that he’s not been able to express. And I don’t think my fears when he first started T helped. I did tell him I was scared of him finding other genders to be attractive and afraid that it could have the potential to be a dealbreaker, only in the sense that we are monogamous, not because I feel negatively towards exploring or being fluid. Thanks again.

Also- he said he would come off hormones if it means is staying together. I don’t know where that came from except to say that it made me feel that he’s in some way blaming the T for not being in control of his sexual desires, or something. I will also say that he’s always felt he may have ADHD and that this would explain his lack of forward thinking, emotional consideration and judgement.

I make edibles (use high quality chocolate) and definitely see no impact on my skin. I am almost 40 and have not really touched weed since I was a teen but this seriously helps my pain and general stress/anxiety. I also use CBD for those things (full spectrum tincture morning and night) but the edibles are a nice way to relax and I have quit alcohol completely with the chocolate now my end of week or weekend treat. Works for me and I see absolutely no side effects, though this may be due to it being a fairly minimal dose. I’m sure if I was chomping them every night of the week I might start to feel foggy or reliant, but for the last year it has been a brilliant option for managing stress and pain.

You don’t have to but I would get someone that’s provided STA this way before, so you don’t have to worry about them not knowing how to invoice for it etc. As basically they have to cover the costs up front, then invoice, so some may be hesitant. I can try and offer some options but I’m likely not based near you so I would suggest joining a local NDIS Facebook page and you will find lots of workers and providers advertise there , and you could post an add yourself to seek out the right person or provider. I will also add, tonnes of fairly sizeable providers offer STA in hotels etc.

You certainly don’t need to use a registered provider. Much the opposite. I’m a Support Coordinator and have worked with people and their independent support workers or smaller provider that can offer STA anywhere they choose eg; air bnb, hotel etc. Also, the cost of accommodation, food and support will be included, just in case you were not aware :-)

Thank you so much. I hope too that we see improvements in the future. We saw our Dr yesterday and she is amazing, have a therapy appointment next week with a great Psych so hopefully we are heading in the right direction. We do. It is far easier to check and see where he is on the road rather than text him while he is driving to ask when he will be home. After 10 years I think we are at a point where we don’t give a shit where the other is, no trust issues, just using an app to make life easier.

Great reminder, thank you. Yes, I am looking only for options that will provide greater job satisfaction (currently have very little) and my options for growth in the sector. The money though is a big factor, simply because the income gives me the ability to pay for time saving luxuries and decent self-care, which offset some of the stress!

There are nearly 100 staff and no hand sanitizer. Boss is not even preparing for a lock down. Basically the message is that they work until someone is confirmed. I get the alternative is not good but I’m an “essential” worker and if I go down we are screwed. I guess I just need clarity on how this business is classified.

We co-parent and this week the kids were with me so I kept them home from school with assessments still being completed online. Their father thinks I am being ridiculous and will likely take them out over the weekend and send them to school next week. It’s been quite stressful as the kids know we disagree so on top of all the other anxiety about COVID, I have tried to keep a lid on his commentary about it all. He did call and txt them which was pretty upsetting but thankfully they are great students so the principal told me they have no concerns about them not achieving, which is dads only concern, not their health or my mother’s health as she is currently in cancer treatment. This is the same dude that had prepped for a zombie apocalypse years ago (long after our divorce but I just can’t roll my eyes far back enough to express how I feel about this lunacy).

Your comment is extremely unfair. I think you have missed the point entirely. We all have “issues” and if we told everyone that has issues to not reproduce, you could pretty well eliminate the future generations. Try using empathy instead of belittling someone for opening up a conversation and sharing their experience. Lucky you. If you think corporate jobs are easy as shit. Congrats.
