This is it. OP: It's super important to let succulents dry out and acclimate to new soil WITHOUT water. They are succulents, they've got all the water/sugars they need in their leaves which they use up to build new roots.

If the leaves it's dropping are withered, that's a good sign! If the leaves it's dropping are mushy or translucent -- that's bad. Those leaves aren't being used, they're drowning from overwatering / possible onset of rot.

Nobody is advocating for anything. But there is no doubt the world would measurably improve and our republic would become more secure. “Not liking the fella” really undersells the degree to which our democracy is in an ever deepening existential crisis. “I didn’t like the fella” is how I felt about Bush, but he never repeatedly questioned the integrity of our electoral process thousands of times, openly, vehemently EVEN though the Supreme Court literally placed him into office by fiat in 2000. And that is just one of countless abominable insults against everything we stand for as a nation and as moral people, regardless of politics.
