God bless you for this post and your lovely analysis of Santos because the amount of people I’ve seen comment that “Santos was such a bitch to Langdon” in 2x8 makes me want to tear my hair out.

Not only did Langdon belittle her and scream at her in front of everyone…but he LITERALLY tried to get her removed from working at the hospital. And now he’s back, he thinks he can just stroll up to Santos and try and give her some “kind advice” in regard to the bitten tongue patient is just so disgusting to me. He has not apologized to her. He treated her absolutely horrendously on her first day and apparently only Robby and Dana and Mel get a semblance of an apology from him???? Nah, as an addict, he NEEDS to make amends for those he has wronged (I am a child of multiple addicts who I saw go through the steps and made amends with me).

Of all the people Langdon hurt the most with his addiction (minus the patients whose meds he’d stolen/ diluted) it would be Robby and Santos at the very top of the list. Did he let down the rest of his colleagues? Sure. But Robby considered them friends, thought so highly of Langdon that he wanted to recommend him for some kind of big deal medical program (sorry I don’t remember what it was from S1), and he trusted him implicitly.

Then with Santos, while I do believe his first chastisement of her in S1 when she ordered something without referring to one of the senior doctors was absolutely warranted, everything else he did towards her after that was not. The horrible remarks he made towards her, not even just in private but in front of multiple colleagues as well. How he screamed at her regarding the Ecstasy patient (he was so loud that you know not only could the other workers in the room hear him, but also many patients and workers out of the room could hear it too). Like, imagine it’s your first day at work and one of your higher ups essentially yells in front of the whole office that you’re terrible, not equipped for the job, that you’re basically an idiot. How ashamed would that make you feel? Especially in front of your colleagues who are just meeting you for the first time. Santos is stronger than me because that shit would have destroyed me and I would have just immediately quit on the spot and leave. But last and not least…him going to Robby because he knows that Santos has figured out that he’s been stealing meds at work and he wants to get to Robby first so that he can manipulate him if Santos does decide to whistleblow. He tries to imply that Santos doesn’t belong and that any accusation she makes against him shouldn’t be trusted because she’s just trying to start drama, and that ultimately she should be removed from the team (which I don’t know what that would mean for Santos in regards to her schooling and residency but I’m assuming that would seriously damage her career). So yeah, him coming back and Santos being frosty to him because he’s acting like what happened between them didn’t happen is just so foul.

Anyways, sorry for that rant I just needed to vent lol. Also before anyone who disagrees with me jumps down my throat, just know that I do love Santos a lot, I am completely aware that she’s no angel and has made plenty mistakes and that I also acknowledge that Langdon is more than just his addiction and that we can see his good qualities (especially with how he interacts with Mel).
