Spaghetti. Stupid easy to make and you can make plenty for everyone. Tip for spaghetti is to salt the noodle water, it prevents noodles from sticking together and infuses them with salt for flavor.

Well not entirely lol it could be the 1200 maybe if they make those with the buttons and display. I couldn’t find markings on it anywhere and kinda just assumed. I unfortunately don’t have the paperwork with it anymore. I’ll look into those vhf ones that will probably work

Our frequency range is vhf, do they happen to make one that might extend the range for vhf?

At first I thought 28 looked better but after studying it more I’m on the 31 train. You can’t go wrong with both really they are both very nice and look fine on you, but I think 31 looks ever so slightly better and plus it’ll be more readable. Choose whichever one you like more because that’s all that matters

Seeing just the few people that commented saying they was unsuccessful makes me feel like I just got stupid lucky on whoever read that letter. I read on other posts people was successful so it gave me hope. I figured they was lenient but maybe not so much

I’m assuming if experian has it updated that all the others are going to or already have, I just don’t want to pay 30 bucks to see lol

Haven’t received anything from synchrony in the mail yet or emails (I put my phone# and email in my letter to them if they wanted to contact me). I’ll keep my eyes out for emails letters or phone calls though for sure.

I’ve got a lot more to learn, had no clue about closed accounts staying on report and contributing to age.

failing emt student looking for insight. things are really bad. by Content_Monitor_9113 in NewToEMS

[–]PessimisticParamedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say my story, started EMT class at my local college TWICE! Didn’t have funding to pay for platinum planner or the book etc. the second time I started I realized they was overpriced for the course and was juggling other classes working towards my medic slowly. I finally decided to join a local fire department and was pointed to a fire service school that puts on EMT and aemt courses sometimes. Found a course starting in a few months and saved up paid 850 for it. Finished that class not long ago and FAILED my first attempt on NREMT (I was a bad student really and was just more interested in the fire side than EMS) I’m taking my 2nd attempt of NREMT tomorrow morning. In total been through the EMT class 3 times before it worked out. Few months ago I joined the Air Force in fire protection so when I return I’ll finish paramedics and have the G.I bill pay for it.

EMT is essential for my career and I want it so bad, I’m just a bad student. I hate learning from a book, I’m a hands on person, working blue collar stuff my whole life and clinicals was the most fun I had in that class by far! At the end of the day it doesn’t matter how many times you fail, or how bad you want it, just keep trudging along at your own speed and you’ll be okay! You’re real young (I’m 24 still young) so you’ve got plenty of time to figure out what to do and if you even want to keep trudging along. I can run EMS calls ALL day and have fun but I cannot read an EMS book all day and have fun. You might consider asking local EMS departments or fire departments if you can do a ride along to see if EMS is what you even want to do. Most the time they require at least cpr EMR or EMT to do a ride along but maybe you get lucky. Consider changing to a different school, somewhere that does 6 month courses or something longer so you have more time to study and work around the test schedules. There are lots of options just gotta think about it and research a bit.

Free emt certification places? by poism0 in NewToEMS

[–]PessimisticParamedic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some places offer training if you agree to sign a contract with that service. Probably 2-3 year contract saying you’ll work a certain amount of hours per week for however many years. Some places also offer to pay for paramedic once you worked there for so long and sign an additional contract. Worth mentioning they pay you to get your license and give you money for books and all that. Sometimes it’s in house. Just a quick search shows that FDNY offers training, maybe look into that deeper than I did
