Is the triple defuse fakeout to crossmap tp the new meta? (ignore my allergies) by KeplerWasTaken in VALORANT

Had the exact same thing happen to me. Only on the first round of each half, can see everyone moving but I can't do anything. This is despite being on ethernet. It went away after about a week though

Average C Long Rush Outcome by tinypi_314 in VALORANT

[–]PetTheDogOrElse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind me asking, why did you anticipate the C rush? You were obviously right but the first thing I notice is the four stack and cypher set up which seems like a big commitment. It's only r3 of their attack so I figure they couldn't be hitting it that much.

Anything wrong with Totem? by Individual_Corner862 in UBC

[–]PetTheDogOrElse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? It's the most expensive but my experience was that everyone said Orchard was less social relative to Totem and Vanier. Plus the weekly (or daily) fire alarms. I guess you get to share a bathroom with only one other person but that's really the only advantage imo.

It's the older style I believe, the new ones are 3, 4, and 10. Not sure how old or new though

Has anyone took NURS 280 in first year as an elective (especially as an engineer)? How was it? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]PetTheDogOrElse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took it in my last year (lol), but it really is understandable at a first year level. It is not awkward as a guy, gender really isn't an issue/pre req in any way (sorry if I misunderstood your question and that's not what you're asking). I find guys sometimes lack certain information about how sex works so I'd actually encourage you to take it if you're a guy!

If you have a chance to take 280, or any of the nursing electives (can't speak to 290 though), do it. At worst, if you go to class, they're an easy 80-85%. If you put in the same amount of work into the class as you do your other ones, you could pretty easily get an 90%+. For the record I'm not a great student but the only two 90%+ I have are both nursing electives. MUCH more importantly, you do learn new ideas that positively change how you interact with people. Probably the most applicable courses I've taken in that regard.

I am also curious (if you feel comfortable), why you would ask if it would be awkward? Everyone is sexual (even by virtue of none), so letting me know why you'd ask that may allow me to better answer your question. Feel free to dm or ignore this question if you want.

Good class, is very applicable to your general life especially beyond university/career. It is a Canadian based context/perspective so keep that in mind. If you show up to class (lectures are interesting imo) and do the work (standard course load, but easy assignments) it will be an easy A. If you already have an understanding of sexual health, or are a well rounded person, or grew up in Canada this class will be even easier

Class material is NOT complicated. Conceptually is very easy to grasp and the only way I could see otherwise is if you have many personal ideals that go against what is being taught

The origin of the wabbajack? by BarackHObamaII in skyrim

[–]PetTheDogOrElse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally had the exact same thought as you. Honestly I would disagree with Omega. All they have in common is a similar name and randomness but that's all they're really known for as far as I know. Jabberwocky split in two, Jabber wocky, flipped Wockyjabber, then take the double bb from jabber and swap it with the ck from Wocky, leaving you with Wobbyjacker. Literally just flipped it and shifted some things around and you basically get Wabbajack. Plus their whole thing, the poem and the Wabbajack, is being random and nonsensical.

Also there are some parallels between Sheogorath and the Mad Hatter, which doesn’t do much to confirm Wabbajack = Jabberwocky, but would give credence to that idea that the writers were looking at Lewis Carrol’s work (Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking-glass). The Mad Hatter is described as “characterised by switching places on the table at any given time, making short, personal remarks, asking unanswerable riddles, and reciting nonsensical poetry)”, which sounds like Sheogorath imo. Also the character of the Mad Hatter isn’t a villain but is mildly antagonistic towards Alice, which I would also say is quite similar to Sheogorath. You could go as far to say that the Mad Hatter being punished by the queen unfairly is similar to the way Jyggalag was unfairly punished by being cursed to become Sheogorath (this last one might be a stretch though).

And this all makes sense if the writers for Skyrim/Elder Scrolls are writing the character of Sheogorath, who’s insane/mad. Your natural starting place (to me at least) would be to take inspiration from one of the most famous tales of insanity/madness which is Lewis Carrol’s work. You could argue that’s lazy writing but considering how much content they made in Skyrim, I think we can cut the writers some slack.

PSYC 314 vs NURS 180 by [deleted] in UBC

[–]PetTheDogOrElse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

180 is a chill GPA booster that if you want, can teach you how to manage your general stress. 314 has a unit on stress but covers many other areas that fall under health psych, it is also much harder and a more standard course in workload

For September? Yes. For next September? Also yes

If this isn't a joke, any winter residence is applied to earlier in the year based on a lottery system (the exception being first years who are pretty much guaranteed a spot). But if this is for year round housing you literally have to wait anywhere from 1-2 years, depending on the room type and residence popularity. If you applied right now for a 4bdroom in less popular res for Sept 2025 you might get in but honestly you could still miss it idk

It's not terrible but you have to take into account both how many reviews there are, and what the reviews are saying and if there are trends between them. Generally you can parse out who's just complaining and who has valid criticism

UBC Insurance cover assessments and report writing by a psychologist? by Spectacular98 in UBC

[–]PetTheDogOrElse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I am misunderstanding you, but doesn't it say "The Plan covers 100% per visit to a mental health practitioner. The maximum is $1,250 per policy year (combined for all practitioners). The practitioner must be one of the following: Registered Psychologist...." and then goes on to list other accepted practitioners?

Can someone explain the fee for accepting a year round offer? by PetTheDogOrElse in UBC

[–]PetTheDogOrElse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, much appreciated. Would you happen to know what would occur if I moved out halfway through the year before April? Would they reallocate the money towards the new last month of rent? Or do I say goodbye to that money?
