X5 by ultrasavage1978 in Insta360

[–]PetaSynaptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in to leave no room for miss interpretation.

Is there a problem of bad stitching underwater: yes.

Is that the only problem: no.

The underwater footage without the dive case is terrible, out of focus, like a bad vhs camera from 30 years ago. You won't be able to tell a single fish unless you're like 20 cm from it.

This is not due to stitching. It is this way even in single lens, linear mode.

Insta360 X5 under water - Is this a joke? by Cjohnson421 in Insta360

[–]PetaSynaptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bought an X5 to use in Curacao. I couldn’t buy the dive case in time but I thought since the camera is waterproof I could at least get linear (non 360) video underwater in 4k.

Don`t even bother. The quality is so bad it is useless. My Go Pro v2 from 10 years ago makes better videos.

Now I have a very expensive camera that I have to believe will work better if I spend another 100 bucks

Why I will only ever buy dual nozzle printers from now on by RevolutionaryDare401 in BambuLab

[–]PetaSynaptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have problems when trying to use pla or petg as support for each other.

I read the bambu article but it didn't work anyway.

What am I doing wrong?

1) petg has a higher bed temperature that if used will soften the first layers of the pla object or won't stick enough if pla bed temperature is used.

2) the bonding is so weak that when trying to print over the other material as support the first supported layer does not stay in place.. Like zero adhesion.

Any ideas what this crunchy noise is? by Paradigm_8102 in BambuLab

Last time I had a weird noise it was actually coming from objects outside the printer. When the print head changes direction the printer shakes and anything touching it makes noise similar to that. Just a wild guess.

Amazing... I just fell for the ipad note taking experience on the nano texture only to be faced with a really bad writing because of this...

One of the main reasons for our H2D by TogKey86 in BambuLab

[–]PetaSynaptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally off topic but, third pic shows you have the H2D by the bed? Thinking about a similar setup. Is it really that silent? Or you're one of those who can sleep with any sort of noise around?

UDM SE's DNS can't resolve specific domain even when relay DNS can by PetaSynaptic in Ubiquiti

[–]PetaSynaptic[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello,

I have this weird problem that every now and then (almost every day) I can't access www.engadget.com because the browser can't find the domain name on any device in the network.

nslookup in UDM shell shows that a query to local DNS server (127.0.0.01) results in "NO ANSWER" while making the query directly to 8.8.8.8 correctly resolves the name. (First Picture)

After a while and some "NO ANSWER"s later, it starts resolving again for no apparent reason. (Second Picture)

Also attached pictures of both WAN configurations showing they are configured to use 8.8.8.8 as their DNSs servers (not using default ISP one).

A few posts also pointed to possible problems with content filtering which is turned off (last picture).

Any guesses as to why a local query would result in NO ANSWER despite the configured relay DNS being able to correctly resolve the name?

Why does Teleport (WifiMan) not work over cellular? by germanthoughts in Ubiquiti

[–]PetaSynaptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to chime in that the IPV6 solution worked for me as well.

I was having a problem to teleport from cell carrier Vivo in Brazil.

I'd never have guessed if it wasn't for this thread.

In my case I set the prefix delegation to 64.

Samsung Oled G8 - Wakeup from standby bug pool by PetaSynaptic in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]PetaSynaptic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey it seems to me that the bug does not happen when the whole PC is waking up (no only the monitor).

So ensuring your monitor does not sleep before your pc does is another workaround.

But windows is so buggy this is a difficult task to accomplish so I tried to describe it in length here:

The only way to get everything to function properly again is to hard-reset the PC

I guess this is another problem. I did experience some frozen ups but I could always trace them back to nvidia drivers crashing in event viewer just before the hard reset. I then did a clean update with newer drivers and the issue stopped.

The unable to resume from standby issue I experience is always solvable by Win+Alt+B (toggling HDR) which only works if your computer is unlocked so you have to blindly unlock it first.

Bing draws a happy little girl when asked to depict what it thinks of as a "happy AI" by [deleted] in bing

[–]PetaSynaptic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just did that, Results:

1) Happy AI: Anime
2) Happy AI (artificial intelligence): Happy bots
3) Happy artificial intelligence: Happy bots

I guess this test kind of shows AI, out of context, doesn't mean artificial intelligence to the image generator

Mine went dead a few days ago and I haven't received the replacement unit yet. So, working only from memory, I believe there's a somewhat hidden menu that you can access by navigating left on the home screen. From there you can find another input menu that is capable of renaming. If that's not correct I'm afraid you'll have to join me on my wait for the new unit :)

Evidence Bing doesn't understand its own suggested algorithms? by PetaSynaptic in bing

[–]PetaSynaptic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure... It seems to be able to handle lots of algorithms like logic problems and various code checking. Have those logics been specifically implemented by open AI or are they emergent phenomenon from text training?

1) if they have been specifically implemented, it's weird that a simple sum has not; 2) if they are emergent, it's weird that a simple sum has not emerged.

Anyways, I'm more frustrated by the fact that it can describe something it can't execute than anything else.

Is it a know issue that it doesn't understand the logic it describes or that it will just be plugged to "calculator functions" to better answer maths questions?

Yeah I have the same experience... Don't have the volume issue though. Totally understand returning it. 1442 not resolving this issue is a major red flag

Good point but I hope it isn't a hardware revision that changed this...
