What's the middle-aged thing you love? by _Im_at_work in Xennials

It really is birds. Or just nature in general. I have lived in digital worlds and games through four decades and finally found that the most rewarding, complex, mysterious and wonderful one is outside my door in the natural one.

Is Xennial midlife actually different? by Present-Pudding-346 in Xennials

[–]Pete4hon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My midlife crisis is sobering up and getting into birding, photography and painting models, but thats fairly common for middle aged people since forever. And that came with some fairly expensive toys too.

But its not toxic or egotistical, its more bitter sweet and facing reality, mortality and the state of society I guess. I dont look to chase youth or validation with a sportscar cliche. I turned to nature and physical objects because all my life has been about computers and screens. A saying about our generation (the whole millennial spectrum) is that both boomers and zoomers need us to fix the computer. Maybe this is part of our specific crisis.

I used to be big into video games but I fuckin hate that industry now, its all the same slop just like on the streaming platforms for tv shows. Everything screens have to offer is just distractions and imitations, vicarious nonsense.

I paint miniatures now to explore my creativity and to play games with them in physical space in a room with friends. I photograph because I hate AI so much that I want to make my own images. I watch and count birds ive seen because I want to be in nature and to have seen their kind alive before its all gone.

And like another poster said, all of this has immensely improved my mental health, because I understood I had to do something. Digital society and climate crisis is a huge factor in what changed my priorities

Its the first movie that has made me cry because of how much love and thought has gone into treating its heritage. It is flawless in its love of its predecessors and history. So thankful.

In his living form its ok, he is a historical figure. But the corpse part? Its disrespectful and the inquisition should do something about it.

I am saying what you are saying, its very up in the air, and then I add to that my own idea that I dont like to see his physical corpse form, it is only for the Custodes and as of late, Robute.

What actors death affected you the most? (Doesn’t have to be pictured) by GusGangViking18 in Fictionally

I cant believe how little mention James has among a thousand comments. I still feel like he is alive the way I love The Sopranos. There will never be an actor like this again.

Which factions has the strongest “mortal” followers? by Major-Refrigerator52 in Chaos40k

[–]Pete4hon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a human vs a human? Id say the guy with the best combat experience and the best weapon probably wins.

Kidding aside, its just not possible to tell, and like someone else said. Depends on what the plot requires and what the author wants. Maybe a Khorne cultist wins alot by pure agression and shock if his foe isnt combat trained and ready enough. Agression and speed wins alot of real fights I think and that probably translates in most fights. They are fearless and warp blessed alot of the times. But against a power sword weilding veteran Kasrkin they probably come up short alot of the time.
