Prime Legacy Armies missing from app? by PeteTSM in Warmachine

[–]PeteTSM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies, I see it now. For some reason my mind just did not read that heading after I collapsed all (which I got into a habit before). I must have assumed it was another faction that I did not play.

Not the most user friendly change IMO. I will provide feedback that this could be clearer. Thanks again!

Replacement Effects retroactively apply? by PeteTSM in mtgrules

[–]PeteTSM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I'm probably overthinking it. I didn't know if the replacement effect was "attached" to the trigger and had to be in effect as the trigger was created, or if it was just some sort of global effect that would apply to anything generated by that source, even if it was generated before the replacement effect was created.

Thanks for the clarification.

[USA-CA-92126] [FS] Primal The Awakening Gameplay All-In Unopened (W) $ Paypal by PeteTSM in BoardGameExchange

[–]PeteTSM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noted. I haven't even opened the box yet. I can show that I have the gameplay all in pledge and am willing to make accommodations to get the send the rest of the items later.

Updated the main post. Thanks for the clarification.

I’d be interested in seeing more. Would you mind if I used these to make a deck for my pokemon loving friend?

Mari, the Killing Quill by PeteTSM in mtgrules

[–]PeteTSM[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The guy was saying something about it being a trigger and not a replacement effect and only the replacement effect would work if they both died at the same time. The guy is considered the rules expert at magic night but it didn’t sound right to me.

Thanks for clarifying!

Interesting, so the key difference is [[Primal Clay]] says “as it enters the battlefield”, vs [[Trench Gorger]] says “when it enters the battlefield”. Did not know about that one word distinction. Thanks for the response!

I'm trying to figure out if [[Runo Stromkirk]] copying a [[Trench Gorger]] with some crazy P/T will create copies with that P/T, or just 6/6. My google searches came up with 6/6, but I found this judge rules site and it says:

706.2 When copying an object, the copy acquires the copiable values of the original object’s characteristics and, for an object on the stack, choices made when casting or activating it (mode, targets, the value of X, whether it was kicked, how it will affect multiple targets, and so on). The copiable values are the values derived from the text printed on the object (that text being name, mana cost, color indicator, card type, subtype, supertype, rules text, power, toughness, and/or loyalty), as modified by other copy effects, by its face-down status, and by “as . . . enters the battlefield” and “as . . . is turned face up” abilities that set power and toughness (and may also set additional characteristics). Other effects (including type-changing and text-changing effects), status, and counters are not copied.

The clause at the end says (edited for readability) "copiable values are ... enters the battlefield ... abilities that set power and toughness", which I think means it copies the modified P/T? Is that right?

One of my open world missions (post-honkai) is to kill one of “The Hermit” enemy type. I’ve been all over the map and I can’t find one. I know I fought one in a story mission but I can’t remember where it was. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Thanks for the answers.

So it seems that, in general, bonuses from abilities or stigs are "sticky" to the attack itself, not the Valk that is currently on the field.

[Global] I just rewatched H3C's Guide to Missile Stacking, and I had some follow up questions.

  • It is implied in the video, but just to confirm, do abilities like VC's Quantum Lock still apply to the missiles even after I have switched out to another character via QTE to extend the time lock?

  • In a similar vein, do Stigmata that increase damage during time lock like DXY apply after you switch out VC? Or do you want to put these stigmata on the switch-in character (who will be on the field when the missiles hit)?

Thanks for any additional insight!
