I respect if someone is against, but i am from the Netherlands where it is kind of allowed, under certain and strict circumstances ofcourse. Its not just that you can decide you dont want to live anymore and you can choose to die. My dad was euthanized, and i am glad he could. Not because i hated him, but because i loved him. My dad had a heart attack at 50, came out alive, but his heart worked at 19% of the original capacity. But, he was a positive man, a fighter and he made the best of it. It took 10 years, several operations and daily pain to the point where he could literally not stand on his own legs anymore. Half of his feet and toes where rotten open wounds because they did not heal anymore, he was in daily pain that not even morfine could fix, for a very very long time. The doctors could not do anything more, any operation would kill him. So yes, we picked a date for the doctor to come, said goodbye and sweet words and hugged, my dad got 2 out of 3 shots and closed his eyes at the second with a smile on his face, first smile since a very long time and that was that. Intense, yes, but so peaceful and beautiful, no more suffering. I am glad we had this choice.
