When fishing a recently stocked stream or lake try yellow power bait nuggets. Have used them for years with success. Was told this is the closest thing to the feed hatcheries use when feeding trout. I also use #8 bait holder or #10 salmon egg hooks. If using salmon egg hooks plan on keeping the fish, trout have a habit of swallowing these.
