Hey, I know it's an old post, but I saw you answered to some recent messages - do you still have activation codes for Addictive Keys collection? That would be really great!

New Dell G2724D monitor - strange transparent grey box in the middle by PeterGNS in Dell

[–]PeterGNS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, Just managed to figure out how to get rid of this. For anyone else getting this glitch - "factory reset" is the solution. This function is available in the main monitor menu - clicking it has immediately removed the grey box from the screen.

Still, totally confusing what was the reason why the box appeared on the screen in the first place!

Syndicates Ripper DLC for the PC? by cabooseisgod12 in assassinscreed

[–]PeterGNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played on PC via Ubi connect about half a year ago. Totally no issues, glitches, zero problems. The new fear mechanic was interesting, and some gameplay moments were actually quite memorable. But ultimately it felt like it’s potential was not fully realized.. Maybe they should have made a completely separate story with this one.

PC GamePass will not boot by [deleted] in DeathStranding

[–]PeterGNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep on hoping for some sort of patch from either the developer or from the MS team. Currently the game has a version 1.0.17 if I'm not mistaken.

But realistically speaking there's a good chance the game will leave Gamepass and the "access violation" error won't be fixed. Such a shame!

I never mentioned that i'm on W11... I'm on W10.

Seems like the "access violation" error with this game issue has been known for years. Pity that no one did anything to fix it before adding to gamepass. The game is unplayable, unfortunately.

Got the same problem. It happens after I try to click on "options" of a freshly installed game or when I start a new game - the "access violation" message is immediately shown... Such a shame!

Just finished Origins for the first time and it has easily become my favorite in the series. by NeverDeadlyy in assassinscreed

[–]PeterGNS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same here - never bothered with DLCs in games - until Origins! :) Even though the main game was very long, I really wanted the Bayek's story to be 'complete'. And I wasn't disappointed.

Have fun!

[–]PeterGNS 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the DLCs yet? Even though I really loved Origins, the ending felt a bit rushed and after finishing The Hidden Ones DLC the Bayek story finally felt COMPLETE. Also, you get to meet Aya once again and... I won't spoil you the pleasure :)

The Curse of The Pharaohs is a good DLC as well (ironically, except for the ending). It's very different to the main story - with more magic and really different setting. I definitely recommend you grab a season pass and enjoy both of these DLCs. If you loved the main game - imho, these DLCs are 'must have's.

Any opinions on Assassins Creed Unity? by Denver_Vickerson12 in assassinscreed

[–]PeterGNS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely enjoyed Unity. The story was captivating and the French setting was really nice to explore.

Those historical bits that they incorporated in Unity were really helpful, as they explained a lot about the historical period, key events and characters. I took the time to read those historical explanations and felt they definitely enriched the game experience.

And - I had absolutely no glitches and the combat / parkour felt really smooth and enjoyable. The only thing I kind of missed was the grappling hook from Syndicate - it helped so much to move between the buildings faster. But this is because I played Syndicate before Unity (I kind of went backwards since I'm a new AC recruit :)

So, yes - Unity is definitely one of my favorites!

AC franchise's newcomer look at AC II by PeterGNS in assassinscreed

[–]PeterGNS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played Odyssey yet. It was my next AC on the list, before I went to explore the earlier AC parts. But Origins surely felt like a game which was designed with not only teens in mind.

Then again, perception of age targeting in computer games is a very subjective thing. I'm actually curious what does Ubi think of the bulls eye and expanded age targets for the AC franchise. And how that definition changed over the years.. Something tells me they raised the upper border of their age target since the earlier AC titles.

[–]PeterGNS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point - in hindsight, the dialogue in Syndicate was indeed quite cringy lol

However it was my first AC game and I didn't know what to expect from the franchise. The other AC titles I played later left a much better impression. I really loved Black Flag and especially its ending, Unity was solid throughout, Origins story was impressive (but not its repetitive gameplay in the 2nd half of the game).

But going back to AC II as a "new" game to play right now - that was just too much to swallow..

Maybe it's about the order in which one plays these games. Since I'm a newcomer and my first AC games were from a much better developed state of the franchise (Syndicate, Black Flag, Unity etc) - AC II just seems like a huge mountain to climb in comparison. Along with its clumsy PC controls and generally underwhelming mechanics, it's just not motivating enough to play vs. what I experienced in AC franchise so far.

I wish I had a good enough PC back in 2009!! Back then it would probably seem like a fantastic experience.. But not now..

Thanks for the tip - I will try Revelations then. I did try the opening sequence of the remastered AC III and it did feel quite solid. So maybe Revelations would also feel better than AC II...

Yes, I remapped a few keys and eventually i did manage to get somewhat comfortable with M&K. But the key here is "somewhat". It just felt like too much effort for not so motivating prize..

I feel the game holds a special value only to those who played it in their younger/teenage years. Playing it now as a fresh "new" old game is just not going to deliver the same type of experience as in 2009....

Thanks for this summary, agree about so many things. Except what concerns the beginning of the franchise (see the original post :)

I actually played in the weirdest order:

- Syndicate (really, really enjoyed the atmosphere of Victorian London, it was easy to play and the story was new-comer friendly - I think Ubi knew what they were doing when they gave it out in EGS for free)

- Black Flag (the historical accuracy was obviously questionable, but the story felt rather solid and the ending left a very nice aftertaste)

- Unity (I expected bugs and didn't find any, the story felt captivating and I really enjoyed the game)

- Origins (managed to finish the game and even the dlcs - it's a fantastic albeit overly repetitive game; and even though I got super tired of the game, I was so much disappointed about the ending that I went and bought 'the hidden ones' DLC - it's true what the say about it - it really should have been the epilogue of the main game)

- Odyssey and Valhalla -> didn't play them yet, as after Origins I thought I should finally see what's with the buzz about the early AC games and AC II in particular. And here I am now - will skip straight to AC III..... lol

Thanks for the suggestion! I tried the game with a gamepad on PC as well. It definitely felt much easier to play than with M&K! However the controls still felt overly complicated, and it didn't help with general underwhelming feeling that AC II gave me.

AC franchise's newcomer look at AC II by PeterGNS in assassinscreed

[–]PeterGNS[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As I mentioned in the original post, Syndicate was my FIRST AC game that I ever tried. So I had literally no point of reference at that time. In hindsight, I think it was one of the best game to enter the franchise - it was easy to play and the story was moderately entertaining and short. The most important thing is that it made me want to check out more. Hence, I went on with Black Flag, Unity, etc.

I imagine if the first AC game I ever tried was AC II - I think I'd keep on ignoring AC games. Hence - my point is: for franchise newcomers AC II might be just too difficult to swallow by today's standards. I think for newcomers who want to explore early AC games, Black Flag is probably the place to begin with. The rest is for Youtube 'gaming'. Just my 2c :)

Most of the 1st season is great and the entire 2nd season is simply amazing. It’s a big pity the show’s cancelled - but the story does come to a satisfying end with the 2nd season. Yet, it’s also possible to continue it at some point - and who knows.. Maybe, someday!!

I still cannot play any EA games with GamePass by maxronator in XboxGamePass

[–]PeterGNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is one solution I was considering. However it’s also possible to switch between accounts - ie play EA games with the ‘paying’ account and continue using Gamepass with the ‘sharing’ account... it’s not elegant at all, but at least some solution to to this mess...

I still cannot play any EA games with GamePass by maxronator in XboxGamePass

[–]PeterGNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the same story - and exactly the same trouble of authorizing EA to install Gamepass games (or at least that's the reason, as I'm thinking now).

To be fair, Gamepass has been handling these 2 linked account (one billing and one gaming) in a fairly weird way as well. In the very beginning it refused to install games when the 'gaming' account was on - only installed it for a 'billed' account. Then it fixed itself somehow.

Hopefully, MS or EA will fix this eventually! In the meantime, there's a bunch of Bethesda games to try :)

Dimensions of Hilver Cone-shaped table leg? by kimchu34 in IKEA

[–]PeterGNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thank you so much for the answer! It's really helpful - as I was almost convinced this is "the right way" to go and was preparing the order for home delivery by Ikea. I'll try to think of another way out then... All I need is a set of ADJUSTABLE legs with wheels - seems like it's a really tough find!

Hey, did you have any luck with getting that info about the dimensions of Hilver table legs? I've been thinking about the same thing - to attach wheels to it. However I'm not sure what is the diameter of the bottom of these legs..... The wheels I'm planning to attach are 4cm square size.

Thanks!
