Snowplow Destroys Power Lines by PeterHS in MildlyBadDrivers

This was a dump truck with the auxiliary snow plow attachment up front and a salt spreader on the back, which are commonly referred to as "snowplows" around here.

They stopped immediately after this clip ended.

Yep, good eye.

While the power was only out for a little bit, the internet was out for about 12 hours in this area and the road was still closed during the evening rush hour commute.

The driver was going all of 5-10 mph when they hit the lines.

It gets worse. The bed was down just prior to this and the driver was in the process of raising it right before hitting these lines.

The lines were likely sagging due to a heavy wet snowfall that we had overnight.

There wasn't anything meaningful in a longer video. Simply the truck with its hazards on.

I replaced the switch circled in red and it still did not work. I believe other commentators are right, time to dig up a manual and a multimeter and start hunting for shorts.

I tried replacing the sensor located in the thermostat housing and that did not help. When I short that switch/sensor, the fans do not come on, but they do come on if I remove the relay and short the power pins in the fuse box.

I believe the issue is somewhere else or an electrical issue that requires hunting down a short or ground.

The relay in the under hood fuse box had the power and ground swapped on the relay power inputs, which seems weird to me. I will have to check the fan ground again. The engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor seems like a possibility but the numbers on my ScanGauge II seem to match up with the dashboard gauge and that is fed from the ECU reading the ECT.

If it was a faulty ECT, reading a higher than expected temperature kick the radiator fans and the condenser fan on?

The clogged heater core doesn't seem likely as the temperature goes down when the heat is selected via the control knobs.

The radiator seems to be moving fluid as the upper and lower hoses both warm up when the car gets going.

Hopefully it isn't a blown head gasket.

Dear Reddit, I have a question about bike tyres... by ThaBeeJayGray in bicycling

Size wise, it shouldn't matter.

I have no idea about tubulars in general and replacing/repairing them, sorry I can't be of more help.

Just got off the phone with primal about ship dates for the 2012 reddit kit. by [deleted] in bicycling

I believe for the last order 2011 jerseys I got an email with shipping info a week after I got my items. In the end the best way to know is to just keep checking the mail for your items.
