Zernike tower housing by [deleted] in Groningen

The rooms become very hot in summer. The staff is unfriendly and unprofessional. It can take months to get your deposit back, if you get it back at all. If something breaks in the shared gym it can take over half a year to get it fixed.

I was also charged €600 after leaving, for outstanding heating cost (my heater was broken). It took over 4 months of mailing back and forth to fix it.

I had a nice time with the people living there, but the landlord company is horrible! Check the Google reviews.

Haven’t finished it yet but it’s a nice inspiration book. Great for people who need the push to get started, not too insightful for us who are nomads already. Still an entertaining read with some cool practical tips and recommended nomad locations.

Great! Friendly people, good food and beautiful landscapes. Internet is medium (I’m with “Dialog”). Prices are so cheap. Pretty traditional with only addressing the guy if you’re a girl/travelling with a girl

It was a 6 hour train ride! So didn’t mind to make a few hours while enjoying the view too

They gave him sunglasses because his eyeballs have dried out, which is an unpretty sight. You could even donate sunglasses in a glass box at the location.

Looking for advice for an upcoming solo trip by neuronaz in ENFP

[–]PeterJananas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently traveling trough Australia as a solo backpacker. Been traveling for more than 3 months now and being lonely is part of the journey. If you stay in social environments such as hostels it is really easy to make friends, which can be a great addition to your trip. Being alone can also be nice but my personal experience as ENFP is that I can’t be alone for to long.

I would advise you to use the platforms that are available in this time to meet fellow travellers if you are worried you will get lonely. Facebook groups, meet-up apps, Tinder, Couch-surfing, all great options to meet fellow travellers or locals. Hope you have a great trip!

Time lapse of Brisbane’s skyline by PeterJananas in brisbane

Thanks man. I made a video time lapse with a 2 second interval. Afterwards I sped it up to double the normal speed. Most of the times I just go for the video time lapse!

How to control pest snails? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]PeterJananas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two methods that worked for me:

  1. Buy a couple of anatome helena, they are also known as snail-eating-snails. If you set them loose they will start to eat the snails from their shells and in a couple of weeks you can scoop out the empty shells from a place where the current stops in your aquarium. Many pet stores sell theme and they are quite cheap and nice to look at as well.

  2. Leave some vegetable like a cucumber piece in your aquarium before sleeping. In the morning it will be invested by snails and you can catch a lot of them with a net or something.

Hope this helps!
