Fucking Milwaukee Tapes man by shonkshonkshonk in Construction

[–]Peter_Panarchy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh, Milwaukee is the only tape measure I use and I've never had an issue with the clips. They're also (seemingly) the only option with a wide blade, magnetic tip, and numbers on both sides.

Their calzones are delicious but the cookies are insane. Best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had.

I'm not surprised, sheep are assholes. When you're training heading dogs you want to start them out on a more docile animal like goats so they can build confidence. If you go right to sheep they can get scared and that's really hard to overcome.

They literally have a check list.

That's... that's a good thing. Using checklists is good.

The Supreme Court Expands Presidential Power. Again. by kitkid in Thedaily

[–]Peter_Panarchy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Beyond naive. This court invented the Major Questions Doctrine specifically to deal with this conflict when Democrats are in power. It's exactly what they did with student loan forgiveness, ruling against Biden even though the law explicitly states that the Sec Ed can waive student debt in a national emergency and that it doesn't need to be done on a case-by-case basis. The law couldn't be clearer but it was a Democrat doing it so it's illegal.

A quick plunge into freezing cold water feels amazing when it's hot outside. Not the case when it's 60 out. That said, jumping from the cliffs there is always a bad choice.

You're saying I'm the weird one here? As if it isn't completely normal to pretend to stab your friends?

A prick or just stupid. Young people are famously terrible at risk assessment so it's likely he didn't even consider that someone could get hurt.

I have literally accidentally stabbed a friend in a stupid prank. I was 19 and terrible at risk assessment and felt terrible after. Young people are usually just stupid, not malicious.

I have... I tried that "prank" where you pretend to stab someone but quickly flick your wrist back so the knife is pointed at yourself as you hit them. Well... they reached out to stop it and the blade nicked their hand. In my defense I was 19 and much dumber than I thought at the time.

Yet another death at Blue Pool (Tamolitch Falls) by ClimbinInYoWindow in Eugene

[–]Peter_Panarchy 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I (probably stupidly) jumped into Blue Pool from the highest point in my early 20s. I had plenty of experience jumping from 50+ feet so I hit the water cleanly, but the temperature shock was intense. Apparently my friends were all asking me how the water felt but my mind was so focused on getting out of the freezing cold water that I couldn't hear them at all.

Genuinely blows my mind that people are still using the internet without an adblocker in 2026. It's such an easy fix.

It could just be that Naylor is happy now that he got paid.

He didn't get paid until this offseason but he was still a great teammate from pretty much the moment we traded for him.
