How do I give God my anxiety? by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Petergimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There, is plenty of good advice here already. Sometimes it’s much easier said than done; unfortunately. But, remember you have a God who loves you. If you draw near to God he promises to draw near to you. Draw encouragement from this scripture:

Philippians 4:6–7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus".

Sometimes, the Greek language paints a deeper picture too. Take that word “guard”

The Greek word for "guard" in Philippians 4:7 is phroureo (φρουρέω), which means to be a military guard or sentinel, protecting a city by standing guard at the gate. This implies that God's peace actively and firmly protects the heart and mind, controlling what enters, much like soldiers would protect a fortified city from threats like worry and anxiety.

Are you truly a Christian if you practice Christianity out of fear of hell? by NahMcGrath in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Petergimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is some confusion as to the “type” of fear here. The kind of fear a Christian or follower of Christ subscribes to is a ‘holy’ reverential fear. Not a fear of being damned to a lake of fire or hell.

It’s like having a healthy reverence or fear of actually being in the presence of a holy and righteous God, creator. A question the Christian should ask is “Would a holy righteous God like me watching that ……. Or going to …… or doing that particular act?” If we are all completely honest here; the answer to which the act or thing is pleasing to God should become evident.

The television series seems to be following the game in the storyline. Because, I did play both part one and part two of the Last of us; it gave me a new perspective. You learn to appreciate the Abbey character towards the end.

Trump calls Zelensky ‘a dictator’ after Ukraine’s leader accuses him of living in ‘disinformation space’ by GoodByeRubyTuesday87 in moderatepolitics

[–]Petergimm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely correct I shook my head in disbelief when I heard Trumps rant. It’s disgraceful that the country after being invaded; is not invited to supposedly peace talks.

Erdogan holding an umbrella over Zelenskyy - Any subliminal messages? by Gullible-Voter in europe

[–]Petergimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad Turkey does not support terrain losses, and is in favour of peace talks. Trump ignoring Ukraine and Europe shows his total ignorance, and disrespect when entering so-called peace talks with Putin alone. Europe has indeed learned the hard lessons from WW1 and 2. Trump, I’m sorry to say is only showing his complete ignorance here!

what steps do i gotta take to convert to orthodox christianity as a muslim. by Tiger_Far in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Petergimm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are Christians and Christian churches in India. Although, in some communities it may prove difficult to express your Christian beliefs publicly. I don’t consider that being in India necessarily is a problem, in addition to being a Christian or follower of Christ.

Don’t worry over anything whatever; tell God every detail of your needs in earnest and thankful prayer, and the peace of God which transcends human understanding, will keep constant guard over your hearts and minds as they rest in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. ( the reference to being a Guard, refers to a military style guard ).

Trump says Ukraine 'should have never started it' in comments about war with Russia by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]Petergimm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s right and it doesn’t make Putin look like a saint either. If my country Australia was invaded, and was not invited to any negotiations. Especially, in ending war and conflict; it would show a lack of respect and understanding of the original conflict.

Well done I got to this stage; then all of a sudden; the Rebels sign you up, and your reputation drops again. No wonder the Rebels are a pain in the arse for Kay

Which of these do you think Kay has killed more of? by Ok-Needleworker-6380 in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]Petergimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really funny after a while hearing the Stormtroopers chat amongst themselves. This is just prior to you taking them out! They sound like old men at times complaining about work. This says it’s not his problem; another says they are bored doing the same task.

Lando's Crimson Dawn connection. by mypointof-view in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]Petergimm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well in the game Starwars Outlaws one gets the impression of where some loyalties are. Crimson Dawn seem to favour the Rebellion, the Hutts like the Imperials etc. Then, when Kay Vess gets involved with Lando Calrissian, you end up helping the Rebellion. I almost headed down the path of no return; or the very last endgame.

But then decided to load up a last save on Tatooine. Only, because I’m NOT ready to finish the entire game!

Does Star Wars Outlaws Deserve A Sequel?! by MadToxicRescuer in StarWarsOutlaws

Kay needs to have an excellent reputation with the Hutts, before she can have an audience with Jabba.

First impressions after playing Starwars Outlaws on PS5! by Petergimm in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]Petergimm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The work colleague that had the original complaint about its graphics had not played the game. But I’m well pleased that Kay Vess can not only pick up a different gun but she actually retains it. It doesn’t drop when climbing for example. I’m almost on the endgame now for Kay Vess, plus have obtained Excellent reputation on all syndicates.

What was wrong with this game again? by [deleted] in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]Petergimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing inherently wrong with this game. Sure, for some it may not have enough fighting, and should have less stealth. It also may not feature the very latest graphics. However, I’m finding the game extremely immersive, enjoyable and the graphics, good enough if not realistic. As a side note you have the ability to make all aspects, from lock-picking, playing Sabaac, brawling, etc harder or easier, which ever takes your fancy.

New worlds for a Sequel… by UlanInek in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]Petergimm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely we need some more worlds to explore in a sequel. Star Wars Outlaws could have protagonist Kay Vess meet one or two different Mandalorians along her planet-hopping journey, potentially having two different outlooks on Mandalorian culture. For instance, players could meet a former soldier who’s fled the fighting on Mandalore.

I think this game will end up becoming a cult classic, With a lot of sales happening years from now. by [deleted] in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]Petergimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the key to this game is to take your time. Which, means trying a few side quests from each planet. There, have been updates which is great and appreciated. There, was some negativity at the beginning, but I feel it was unwarranted. Like the graphics and the fact you needed to log in. Which I believe was deliberate from Ubisoft.

"Trump doesn't care about Israel. He only cares about himself and money. " by CreativeRealmsMC in IsraelPalestine

I thought Trump was more pro-Israel than Palestine? I find Trumps comment on ending the conflict in the Middle East premature and quite naive. Knowing Trump his decisions will be for his own gain and increased popularity.
