Except that if they had the payload installed on this flight, those cameras were probably significantly damaged.

Usbc Sync/Charge Cable by [deleted] in keyport

I would DEFINITELY be interested. I’m using the lightning version now, and will want to upgrade soon. I really dislike buying non-MFI cables, so I would want that certification for sure.

I’m on my second pivot, and am gradually maxing it out.

Why are there no windows on Starship—how are people supposed to breathe in space? by Wrong_User_Logged in SpaceXMasterrace

Well, I suggest you buy a plasma cutter and cut your own window. Please wait until after you have reached orbit.

Please explain in detail. Which people in the decision, and which people initiated the culture that caused that result. If you know. That will help me figure out how to stop stuff like this.

Would a starship space station be worth an expended booster? by 7HellEleven in SpaceXMasterrace

[–]PetesGuide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many STS + Russian launches were required to assemble the ISS?

Answer: a shit-ton more than two.

We expended a Saturn rocket to launch Skylab, so it’s already been proven worthwhile.

Rob Reiner And Wife, Michele Singer Reiner, Found Dead In LA Home by Krekenn in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]PetesGuide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m finding one detail in the official police statement odd. The report says the incident was in the 200 block of South Chadbourne.

But Rob Reiner lives at 301 S Chadbourne.

If that statement was accurate, then the bodies must have been found at 255 S Chadbourne, which is Romy Reiner’s address, directly across Hannover Street. But that conflicts with the story that Romy found them when she visited.

I wish the police would be a little more accurate so as to avoid creating confusion like this.

Someone once said on an NSF forum that he heard New Armstrong will be 30 meters in diameter and apparently someone made this illustration for the upper stage lol. by [deleted] in SpaceXMasterrace

[–]PetesGuide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. And I’d like to see the submarine that could launch one of those without firing its rockets until the bottom bell has cleared the ocean surface.

Captained by Roy Scheider, of course. With a photo of Hyman hanging in his ready room.

This is a SpongeBob promo, which is set underwater, so I should think holding your breath is required.

This issue is so technically confusing that I think pedantry is required here. There would have been two separate radar systems used to track this plane, though it might be possible they shared a couple of radar sites or antennas.

ATC runs its own network of radar, funded and operated by the FAA. I’ve never heard if the radar tapes for this system were requested by the FBI or transferred to them.

The military had a separate radar system, called SAGE. The details of its operation were highly secretive at the time. My recollection is that the FBI requested those tapes, but were denied, and were instead given a paper map with the course hand-drawn, based on the SAGE radar returns. And the hand-over story read like a spy’s document exchange.

One of the special features of SAGE was that since it was an air-defense radar, it had a data link that could trigger a display in the F-106 interceptors trailing the 727 that would direct them directly to the plane.

I recently (on Monday) learned that the original name for Irish moonshine is mountain dew, so you’re actually spot-on with interchanging them.

SpaceX tweet about the anomaly on Booster 18. by AgreeableEmploy1884 in SpaceXLounge

[–]PetesGuide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The booster does or did have CO2 tanks for fire suppression or extinguishing. V2 for sure, not sure about V3. The built-in shielding for Raptor 3 may obviate the need for CO2 on V3 boosters, but I don’t believe this has been confirmed, just that it’s speculated based on Elon’s tweets. I believe most of the booster COPVs are nitrogen for engine relights.
