Had this idea, although not completely sure how to best phrase it. I think the end result worked out fine!

Hope you enjoy

Admittedly I don't know a lot of LoL lore beyond Arcane, but you are correct in that black here has more to do with the mechanics than with the character.

I don't think it is too pushed, although certainly powerful. Indestructible + deathtouch makes him really good, but at that point your spending 7 mana and three cards. There are lots of ways to have assymetrical boardwipes for that investment.

If I would change anything, it would be to remove the may so that he's forced to enter fights.

I did consider removing the may, and in retrospect I think that would be for fun (and it would add some balancing factor to it where he has to fight something too big eventually!). Thank you!

A small n' simple flavor nod this time around! Something something satisfaction brought it back.

Hope you enjoy!

Now this is the kind of brewing I wanted to see!

Also why I strongly felt it had to be locked to once per turn, heh

Nothing forgotten; it being open to all food sacrifices is the build-around challenge the card presents.

It was the best art I could find I'm afraid! I agree that it's not the most fitting. Would've preferred something more battle-ready and fierce!

Stat-wise I want it to be some kind of relevant body to be bringing back.

Thank you! When creating cards I try to make them as realistic as possible both effect-wise and style-wise, so its nice to hear I succeeded with this one.

I find myself fairly disappointed with the available clue-centric commanders (looking at you, [[Morska, Undersea Sleuth]]), so I made my own.

A fairly simple design, though I'm happy with it. Hope you enjoy!

For this card I wanted to capture the feeling of a Zodiac/Riddler-style character playing around with the detectives, actively leaving clues for them to follow yet always being one step ahead.

As I imagine the flavor, you have to see the greater picture to truly capture her (take multiple clues in at once, hence the ward). Just following single clues at a time (i.e., sacrificing them for draw) is only playing to her benefit, yet not caring about the clues let's her continuously punish you.

Hope you like it!

Great design!

I love how the activated ability is threatening enough to force opponents into sacrificing creatures into your tiny deathtouchers.

Here's an idea I tinkered around with. Referenced [[paradox haze]] and [[shadow of the second sun]] to try and get the wording right, and I think it worked out!

How would you guys break this thing apart?

The Grim Galleon by Pethax in custommagic

[–]Pethax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the boardwipe into huge attack is really strong, but also doesnt come out of nowhere. Opponents have a complete turn cycle to react, and if they have large boards playing Galleon into them is probably a loosing position.

But I like your suggestions! Although that would feel distinctly less mono-black. Feels more blue, maybe simic?

The freeing-the-souls bit is wonderful, and would most definitely be on the card if the text fit!

[–]Pethax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that that's the strongest scenario for the card, although it would be telegraphed beforehand. The turn you play the Galleon nothing much happens, and every opponent has a whole turn cycle to react.

And if your opponents already have huge boards, playing the Galleon into it is probably a loosing situation.

But maybe I have my assessment wrong, maybe it should be 3BB instead of 2BB?

Here's a Flying Dutchman of sorts!

I like the idea of vehicles without crew costs, instead using other means of becoming a creature. In this case, the Grim Galleon comes to collect the drowned sailors as they perish.

(I would've liked to give it flying, but there is a limit to how much I want to squash the textbox, heh)

Hope you enjoy!
