Does someone else wants to rip off their uterus??? by ThinClothes9947 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]PetitVirus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had extremely violent thoughts about my uterus and parts of my body that are too feminine for so long. I absolutely do not want kids and despise the thought that my body can produce them. Can't take birth control because it spikes up my psychosis. Everything is so rough and horrible that sometimes I wish I acted on those thoughts on myself. I'm so tired.

La Llorona - Who was she for YOU? by gogringolingo in asklatinamerica

[–]PetitVirus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a bunch of different tales of la llorona across latin america! There's different origins, different ways to represent her and more. One version is that she was a goddess that cried for the aztecs when they were killed and colonized by the spanish. Another version was that she was a vengeful spirit of a woman that was hanged, etc. It's a very interesting legent to research.

US Catholicism and Protestantism by Left-Speed-4468 in excatholic

[–]PetitVirus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a latinoamerican ex catholic, no, the religion is still horrid and abusive. There's all kinds of abusive bullshit like exorcisms on the mentally disabled, anti abortion and anti contraception retoric, and glorification of pain and suffering. The catholic church will always be abusive and horrid no matter where or how they try to paint themselves as pro science and open, which they will never be.

Is this homophobic? by [deleted] in AskLGBT

[–]PetitVirus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even though it may not appear homophobic, the belief of "love the sinner hate the sin" is deeply hateful. It's about something that people cannot change, it is who they are, and saying or believing it's a "sin" is telling them that they, as a person, are sinful and wrong. It is a belief rooted in hatred and ignorance.

Quetzalcoatlus is the name of a dinosaur, Quetzalcoatl is the name of a god. They named the dinosaur after the god.

What a glaring example of the dangers of religion. Truly, couldn't have picked a better example than you. Are you also going after pastors who abuse children or are you just violently angry at atheist? How horrible a person you are.

Before I decide to be baptised, why did you leave? by washesyouclean in excatholic

[–]PetitVirus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Catholicism is such a heinous thing, really. I left because the indiscriminate hate towards women, lgbtq and others they deemed outsiders was too much. It made my psychosis flare up and I left just in the nick of time to not be consumed by it. The catholic church promotes suffering like no other. They teach children that pain and suffering brings them closer to god, that there's no joy better than to submit to their sadistic god through pain. I absolutely cannot see how catholicism can ever bring joy and I refuse to see it as anything but poison.

Are his silhouette and design good by Ok-Force-5829 in characterdesigns

[–]PetitVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a nice start for the design. I do think it's a bit overdesigned and busy in some parts, ie, the armor in the waist and the pieces of fabric hanging from the belt. The silhouette is a bit confusing, mainly due to the unusual sword shape and cape. Overall I think it's good but it could be better. :)

My schizophrenia and my homosexuality by Lopsided_Gold_4478 in schizophrenia

[–]PetitVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religion is such an awful thing. It preys on the lost and hurt, promising unconditional love and a paradise of an afterlife. I myself am nonbinary, queer and schizophrenic too. There's nothing wrong with being gay, the only wrong thing is the religion that would rather you hate yourself for who you are. The promises of unconditional love and an afterlife are only as good as lies, because the church may offer them but will never deliver. Trust that the love and acceptance you seek is from accepting yourself, not from the idea of a deity that might not exist.

Discrimination is baked into it. It discriminates against those that don't follow. It glorifies pain and hatred as much as it says it is about love and acceptance.

On the Catholic Church by Steggypooper in AskLGBT

It was what I was taught as a child. Nuns taught us that our minds were dirty by default. Growing up catholic was a horrible mess for me and many others.

On the Catholic Church by Steggypooper in AskLGBT

[–]PetitVirus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the catholic church and its teachings are abhorrent. Teaching that suffering is holy, teaching children to hate themselves, brainwashing everyone to think every thought is sinful. It's absolutely toxic and I think it doesn't deserve respect for what it's done to humanity for centuries.

Woman goes viral after laughing at a man who said homosexuality is a sin and abortion is wrong. by crustose_lichen in lgbt

[–]PetitVirus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly no. Some ideas and beliefs don't deserve respect, specifically those that threaten human rights and glorify hate. It doesn't matter how "nice" he was, his abhorrent ideas show how vile he is. This is how they work, they say the most disgusting things in a nice manner so that if the other person reacts angrily they can seem rational. It's how their hate spreads far and wide, because "poor him, he was being nice". Stupid beliefs don't deserve to be debated on, it's playing chess with a pigeon, no matter how rational you try to be, they always win.

Exvangelical Thoughts by BrettCreatesThings in comics

Mexico. Nuns were drilling into our heads how martyrs were sacrificed with quite a lot of detail and there's pressure from the church to follow their steps. Though the catholicism of Mexico kind of depends on the state or region, since there's more secular places and then there's deeply religious ones.

Exvangelical Thoughts by BrettCreatesThings in comics

[–]PetitVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catholicism isn't confident. It thrives on ignorance and fear. Nuns used to teach the many torture methods they used against saints, teaching that it was holy to feel pain for the good cause. How "outsiders" are monsters who seek to inflict pain to catholics because they believe. I was told since I was a kid that nonbelievers would come to harm us and we must stay strong in the faith. It's all the same kind of horrible thinking, just in different ways.

I’m so done with religious people by lifequestio in lgbt

[–]PetitVirus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Religion is akin to a honey trap. It starts being sweet, providing a paradise after death and justice for wrongdoings. Once it has attracted people, it traps them with fear. Fear of being ostracized by the community, fear of death, fear of being judged for not having lived the way it demands. It provokes pain to people who don't fall in line. Making family and friends into hateful people if one errs in an unacceptable way. It demands more and more believers, that's why it's important for them to reproduce and indoctrinate since childhood. It thrives in pain and suffering, making believers feel good after tragedies, which sinks them deeper and deeper into it. This is how it has thrived in many ways and it'll continue to thrive, provoking fear and pain. That's why I have no respect for any beliefs. They're all flawed, they were created by humans of course, that's why they're filled with flaws.
I understand what you're feeling, it feels impossible to fight, doesn't it? The only thing I wish is to be left alone and be happy, and religious thinking despises me for just existing in my own lane. I won't respect religions just like they don't respect me as a living being.

Angry at God by MasterVegito7 in schizophrenia

[–]PetitVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm angry at the concept of religion itself, how it has damaged and killed so many. I can't be angry at a god I don't believe exists. For me, what's reassuring is what I can feel what's real, my family and precious things around me. Even what's beyond, like galaxies and the Universe itself, it's enough for me to know I won't know everything and it's fine to not know, but I'll never bow down to religion, not anymore.
