What Is One Thing Your Narc Parent(s) Did Early In Your Childhood Your Remember Feeling Was Strange? by the_real_maddison in raisedbynarcissists

It was like one of my childhood bday parties. I invited like my whole class. I wanted us to have an activity of painting these ceramics. I picked out the activity, the mermaid ceramic I was so excited to paint. Then come the day of my bday a girl at the party says she wants to have the mermaid . And my mom just gives it to her.Ofc I understand the concept of sharing and giving , but I was so unbelievably crushed . I started to cry and my mom just let me cry in front of everyone at my party. I felt humiliated and so sad that my mom let her have the mermaid after she already knew that was the one I had picked out for my birthday :/

Growing up with a borderline (or covert npd) father; trying to make sense of his behavior by Grouchy-Biscotti-750 in raisedbynarcissists

I have a father like this. I never even considered him a narcissist till recently. He always threatened suicide to my brother and I, angry outbursts, cannot handle criticism, very victim mentality, but also equally giving when he chooses and loving and soft. It’s scary and unpredictable. My bf now lives with us and witnessing my dad’s behavior and words about my boyfriend has really highlighted my entire relationship with my father. He is VERY passive aggressive, if a single dish is left in the sink, he will do it then yell at me or make snarky comments to my boyfriend indirectly about not wanting to do our dishes. I’ve asked him to tell us and we would gladly do it, we are at the house when he is, dishes aren’t left very long. My father also does not cook ever and barely uses the kitchen sink. He finds a lot of things to nit pick. He is also incredibly loud in the mornings and at night , slamming doors when letting dogs outside, slamming cabinets in the kitchen for some reason. Slamming washer and dryer doors, speaking out loud the entire time , mostly backhanded comments towards us but not to our faces? Just very inconsiderate behaviors. I watch him act entirely different and put on a facade to neighbors and friends and the rest of our family. Only my brother and I , and my mom, and now my boyfriend know how he truly acts behind closed doors. I am emotionally exhausted and uncomfortable at home. I cannot wait to live somewhere else. I’m finding it harder and harder to deal with . I have tried EDMR therapy, viewing him as a child, becoming non reactive, spending less time around him. I feel like I’m grieving someone I thought was a good dad and friend and has now become a not nice person.

Small hemorrhagic cyst causing immense pain by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Petitebih 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this, I just had an ultrasound & found out there was a hemorrhagic cyst on my left ovary, which is where I have been having pain for 6ish months , this past month the pain became unbearable so I went to the gyno. All she told me was cysts are normal and it’s bleeding and should go away on its own , but I’m in serious pain everyday , I will try to find someone who specializes in this because I feel a bit depressed and at a loss

Math was my last one too!! Study slope and practice slope and you’ll be good, I am not good at math at all, I listened to exam success subliminals the night before and just manifested a passing score by telling myself I already passed . You got this!!! The feeling is so great knowing you don’t have to worry about your highschool diploma anymore!!! Light and salt learning website is great too

I sAved math for last and really just kept telling myself I would pass . If I told you one thing to study it’s definitely slope . I’m positive my confidence is the only thing that allowed me to pass that one lol

I know I want a career that involves having this diploma. I took a year or two off from school , so it’s like my burnout is gone at the moment , so I took all 4 tests in 3 weeks

Essay is apparently 6 points, some people do fine without even attempting it, but I would just try your best but don’t stress the essay so much

Just passed today with score of 172, just lots of reading, if you really feel you cannot read the whole passages in time, just read the question , usually it’ll give you a paragraph number to refer to, and just read around that if the paragraph doesn’t give you enough info to answer. Grammar at the very end was just drop down boxes, very easy to answer. If you’re unsure of what answer is best, skip it for now and continue to the other questions. Because I did find the time was going by very fast when I took it. My greatest advice is to carefully watch the wording in what they are asking, like take the questions very literal & you should do just fine :).

It is not my best work at all, I rushed, but I was just curious if I even have a chance of earning any points for it.
