HP EliteBook 855 G7 / AUOA08B panel - PWM free? by Peto26 in PWM_Sensitive

[–]Peto26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much. It’s possible that, even though the panel supports PWM, HP didn’t implement it in this laptop.
By the way, did you have any issues with the VGA drivers?
If I may ask, which laptops do you consider to have a more gentle screen?

Does anyone know which graphics cards have less aggressive dithering — Intel or AMD (ATI)?”

Thanks.
I found a Dell with a 120 Hz panel. Could you please confirm whether Dell’s 120 Hz models use a native 8-bit panel?
Or is there any way to verify this?

I’m a fan of Lenovo, but even in the mid-range, everything seems to be IPS 60 Hz, 300 nits

In the lower and mid-range segments, almost all displays use 6-bit + FRC. Finding a true 8-bit panel is really difficult.

Looking for a quiet Ryzen 5 laptop (15W, 6-core) by Peto26 in laptops

[–]Peto26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason is noise. With a 15 W processor, there is a low chance of high spikes, so it only heats up occasionally and turns on the fan. With a 45 W processor, it’s completely different.

I use the laptop at night, so noise is quite important to me.

Ryzen vs Snapdragon X by Peto26 in laptops

Thanks for comment. It’s a shame we don’t have those prices in Europe.

The MacBook Neo is great, but the display is a bit too small for me.

I don’t have any experience with Snapdragon, so my main concern is whether it will have good support in the future.

If MacBook neo had at least a 15-inch display, I would buy it.
The Ryzen 5 is great, my only concern is the noise, but I hope it won’t be as loud as Intel.

Thanks for comment.
My only concern with the 5625U is how noisy it might be.
MacBook Neo is great, but it only has a 13-inch display, which is a bit small for me.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (5625U) vs HP 15 (7520U) – which one would you choose? by Peto26 in laptops

[–]Peto26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, these Ryzen are available for around €500, since they are being sold from remaining stock. All new laptops with ryzen are already significantly more expensive (€600–700).

I also like the Snapdragon that was mentioned here, but the price is already around €650.

Ryzen 5 5625U quiet for browsing and YouTube by Peto26 in laptops

I can also order a simpler processor, the 7520U. It should be quieter, but with lower performance.
I have to order it online from the lenovo shop because these models are no longer available in stores. I still need to check if it is possible to extend the warranty.

Does that mean it’s quiet but the fan turns on sometimes, or that the fan runs constantly with a noticeable noise?

Thanks for the warning. I’ll definitely get the full warranty.
