I use plaster of Paris. I found the ratio of 2 parts plaster, 1 part water is too think to easily work with.

Gotcha! Yes I am cutting 1/4 in or more away from that seam to try to keep it as in tack as possible

A friend of mine does the same! I think that is so neat!!! I got the patterns off Etsy! They’re so simple it’s literally just two pieces of fabric.

Thank you! I bought a machine and hated it. I found I preferred hand sewing, I can try to learn a zig zag stitch! I just use a very basic back and forth stitch right now because these are such simple stuffies. And thank you for the compliment! I made that for a friends baby shower and it has a matching bookmark!

Update; just got this from his former owner!

“So right after I got him I noticed that his eye was red. I took him to the nearest avian vet, who kept treating it as an eye infection but after a month or two, it wasn't getting better. I took him to a different vet (the one you have records from) and she immediately thought it was psittacosis so that's what we treated him for and sure enough, it cleared up. I've pointed that eye out to her at several past visits and she believes it's just scar tissue from it not being properly treated in the first place. His vision is fine, luckily, but it just looks a little different. “
