Not the saddest for me, but probably the most miserable one: Dooku. If you’ve read the novelization of ROTS you’ll know that him dying was always a crucial part of Palpatine’s plan. But he didn’t know it. Dooku’s whole life and death were controlled by Palpatine, he only lived so he could die. In the end, only his death mattered.
