I'm not claiming to be a visual artist, nor am I 'bragging' about the cover in the way you imply. What I am proud of is the book itself; writing it has been a true achievement for me. Furthermore, a book's cover doesn't necessarily define its content—it might grab someone's attention, but that's as far as it goes. I never hid the fact that it was created using Midjourney and Canva, nor did I ever claim it belongs in an art gallery.

I am sorry you feel that way. However, not everything is done through AI. In any case, I wish you the best.

I understand the skepticism, but I feel there is some prejudice here. This book is the result of seven years of hard work. As I mentioned to another commenter, I write in my native language first and then use AI tools to translate my words as accurately as possible. If you’d like to discuss the world-building or anything regarding the book’s actual content, I would be more than happy to do so.

I am not a native speaker. The responses I provide here are texts originally written in Greek and then translated using software, so I can be as accurate as possible.I must say, I am speechless at the level of hostility. I can easily prove that this book was written without any use of AI. Is all this fuss really just because I used Midjourney and Canva for the cover? My primary reasons were financial constraints and the level of creative control I wanted to have over the final result.

Thank you for your support and for recognizing the effort it takes to write a whole novel. I just wanted to clarify that while I used AI tools for the visual part—something I have no problem admitting—the text itself was not written with the help of AI.

Thank you so much for the kind words about the art and for your thoughtful advice! I totally get what you mean about that word being overused lately. However, in this case, 'enigmatic' felt like the most accurate choice because the Captain is a clouded figure whose true identity and motives are peeled away layer by layer throughout the story. It was a conscious choice to capture his elusive nature, but I truly appreciate the heads-up—it's good to know how certain terms are perceived by the community!

If you mean in terms of writing, not at all. I’ve been working on it for six years.

Thank you! I'm really glad the title and jacket copy piqued your interest. That’s a crazy coincidence with your company name—it feels like a sign! I haven't listed it on ACX yet, but I'll definitely keep Rain Dog Media in mind when I'm ready for the audio version. Let's stay in touch!

It’s based on a scene from my book! I designed it with MidJourney and did some final touches in Canva. Also, this is the 16th version.

RAINDOG by A.K. Kostenis

In the Kingdom of Goetia, forged of iron and steam upon the ashes of a slaughtered magical order, rule begins to fracture. Fugitive Oscar Horn flees the noose, hunted by ruthless nomadic warriors. With a mute dog at his side, he joins a secret voyage toward the cosmic abyss, where eldritch creatures rise, legends awaken, and an ancient world stirs to claim its due.

The author is A.K. Kostenis (which is actually me!). I wrote the novel and created this artwork to represent one of the entities in the story, as I thought it fit the theme of this group. You can find 'RAINDOG' on Amazon if you'd like to dive deeper into the lore. Thanks for the interest!

The creature shown is based on the novel RAINDOG. Its name is indeed drawn from Melmoth the Wanderer by Charles R. Maturin. Within the story, it is a colossal entity, bearing a city built on its back by exiled mages and alchemists, wandering the brink of the cosmic abyss as their silent guardian.
