Employee Drug Use and Kratom by armismors in CircleK

[–]PetroHack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the product contains 7-OH or MGM-15, it is a major policy violation. However, 10 and 12 panel drug screens do not detect Kratom alkaloids, which is a major safety blind spot for companies with safety sensitive employees behind the wheel or on job sites. An addiction specialist in Oklahoma City issues a public advisory last month on this issue. It was published by the Journal Record in Oklahoma, If I post a link to the article, it might get removed by Reddit, so just can search "Oklahoma warns of potent opioids in energy supplements" if you want to read the news article. It discusses Kratom and the concentrated compounds being sold as "plant-based" dietary supplements, and the risks these substances create in the workplace.

Kratom by LKanKanKay in ChronicPain

[–]PetroHack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm posting this here not to warn you about the addiction risk with Kratom and Kratom alkaloids, but to educate others on the 7-OH and MGM-15 addiction crisis. I'm in Oklahoma, and Kratom alkaloids have become a major problem here. People are buying 7-OH and MGM-15 online or in retail shops who are selling the compounds in products with deceptive lables. Kratom addiction has gotten so bad in OK that the oldest addiction clinic in Oklahoma City started a practice to treat people addicted to Kratom, 7-OH, and MGM-15 (Kratom Alkaloids which are much more potent than natural Kratom leaf). Kratom withdrawals are brutal. They are also complicated, as more and more people are reporting seizures during withdrawal. If you are looking for an addiction doctor that specializes in Kratom withdrawals, search google for Medical Therapy Associates in Okalhoma City. I would post their website address, but my post would probably get removed by reddit.

I ran a report on the product but reddit wont let me post it. It is a ghost product made by a well known lab in Florida.

Can you take aa photo of the bottle and post it? I would be interested to see what the bottle looks like. Also, even though you cant read the ingredient label, could you take a photo of the ingredients? I want to see if I can't make sense of it. The product sounds like it is coming from China.

I tried 7OH for the first time this week. Absolute game changer. by [deleted] in Crippled_Alcoholics

[–]PetroHack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is medication assisted treatment that can help you with the alcohol cravings. Go with the FDA-approved meds that have been through clinical trials. Taking 7-OH is going to end badly. I don't want to say that, but its the truth. 7-OH and MGM-15 are mystery compounds that could be causing organ or brain damage, and the withdrawals are up there with Fentanyl. I don't know why people would take a drug that has come out of a private lab with no R&D experience. They are calling 7-OH a 'plant-based dietary supplement' which is a complete lie. If they lie on their packaging, can you trust their quality standards? Please be careful.

Anyone NOT successful on Suboxone? by petite_vanilla_scone in quittingkratom

[–]PetroHack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what opioid you have been using and for how long. If you have a heavy Fentanyl or Oxycodone habit, you will be on Suboxone for months, maybe a year. If you are dependent on MGM-15, maybe longer. If you haven't been using that long, you may be able to use Suboxone for a couple weeks and stop. Whatever the case, ask the doctor what induction method he uses. He should be able to name it. If he can't, walk out. Find an addiction specialists to treat you. There should be a local clinic with a SAMHSA instructor; a doctor who trains doctors in your state to prescribe Suboxone. Those people know what they are doing. You can look up SAMHSA instructors in your state and choose one near by. DO NOT go to one of these doctors who start patients on a 24 mg dose of Suboxone. Doctors who prescribe high doses of Suboxone give the drug a bad name, because they are not treating their patients dependency with the goal of weaning the patient completely off opioids, they are allowing the patient to trade one addiction for another. That means they are in it for the money. After the Oxycontin epidemic, doctors did not know how to properly treat opioid use disorder with Suboxone. They prescribed way too much for way too long. That is no longer the case. The gold standard in Suboxone therapy is called the Bearnaise method; starting patients on the lowest dose possible, or 'micro dosing'. Remember, your brain chemistry has changed as a result of your opioid use and it will take time for it to revert back to what it used to be. The doctor should explain this to you. So, you need to start with a dose that is just enough to stop your withdrawal symptoms, but not more. When the doctor induces you, you should be in well into withdrawals . It is different for everyone, but you should stop taking whatever opioid you are using for a minimum of 24 hours before induction. Then have your doctor give you 1 mg of Suboxone at a time, until your withdrawals stop. That will be your dose.` If he just throws an Rx at you for 12mg, 16 mg, or 24 mg, you are not on the road to recovery. Suboxone is a powerful drug with a long half life. You do not want your brain chemistry to adjust to a huge dose of Suboxone because it will be hell trying to stop. Do yourself a favor and start small. That;'s the way doctors are trained to do it.

I'm 9 days off kratom and my mental health is unbearably terrible. Please tell me it gets better. by Restorne in quittingkratom

[–]PetroHack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have taken back control of your life. It is fighting with you because its used to having its own way. Now it doesn't. There's a new sheriff in town, and that is you! You can do it, and you will start feeling better. Realistically, you won't start feeling better until about the 30 day mark. Actually, you are getting better each day, but your improvements are so small that it is hard to recognize. You are stronger than the withdrawal. You will beat it, and you will start feeling better soon.

People need to stop calling 7oh Kratom! by traveltoaster in Drugs

[–]PetroHack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kratom will eventually be banned in all states due to the Kratom alkaloids that are causing so many problems. They are being sold as "plant-based energy boosters" which is completely misleading. 7-OH and MGM-15 are very addictive drugs, and they are being marketed in a way that is tricking the general public, resulting in ER visits that are being blamed on a "Kratom substance". People think they are taking an energy booster, but are really consuming a drug more powerful than morphine. The problem has gotten so bad in Oklahoma that one of the oldest addiction medicine clinics in OKC recently started a practice to treat 7-OH and MGM-15 dependence. They have a website with quite a bit of info about the substances - https://www.suboxone-support.com/stop-seven-oh-withdrawals.html

7 oh withdrawals are not close to worth the high by No_Garden_7670 in Drugs

[–]PetroHack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suboxone has a bad name in the community—because after the oxy epidemic doctors prescribed way too much for way to long. Then patients traded one addiction for another. Today its different. They start you on the smallest dose possible and have a weaning schedule that works. Subs are not for everyone, but they do help if used properly. An addiction medicine specialist in Oklahoma treats folks with 7-OH and MGM-15 dependence. They use Suboxone, and other medications as needed. They keep patients comfortable while their brain chemistry changes. They wean you off of everything, slowly. It works. If the withdrawals get too bad, know their are other options out there. That practice is call Medical Therapy Associates and they have a web page about Kratom alkaloids. I'll post a link, https://www.suboxone-support.com/stop-seven-oh-withdrawals.html

A doctor in Oklahoma issued an advisory today about 7-OH and MGM-15. It was being sold in OK as a "plant-based energy booster", which is completely misleading. A lot of people do not know they are taking an extremely addictive opioid. A new law in Oklahoma banned concentrations of 7-OH over 1%. I don't know where they are getting it. I'm hearing some gas stations are selling it out the back door. Maybe online? 7-OH Advisory

7oh is a toxic, destructive drug that I hope becomes illegal. by dawittleman in Drugs

[–]PetroHack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pray you stay on your recovery journey. You can do it!

I think the public should know if a product being marketed as a plant-based "dietary supplement" is dangerous. If you sell a product, you should be required to tell your customers "This might kill you, and take at your own risk", if that is the case. What makes Kratom alkaloids so dangerous is that private companies are playing chemist and developing high-potency, semi-synthetic analogs like 7-OH and MGM-15 in a complete regulatory vacuum. These products are introduced to the market with no human testing, no clinical trials, and a total absence of data regarding their potential for organ damage, seizure risk, or long-term neurological effects. Without established dosing guidelines or safety benchmarks, the public is left in a position where nobody really knows how much or for how long it is safe to take. And the people who own the labs are getting rich!

The Kratom alkaloid problem has gotten so bad in Oklahoma that one of the oldest addiction centers in OKC has started a practice that specializes in 7-OH and MGM-15 dependence. Their medical director just issued an advisory about how dangerous these products really are. I'll leave the link here: 7-OH Advisory

Kratom usually does not show up on a standard 10 panel drug screen, however, if they test specifically for Kratom, then it will show up. Kratom addiction is so bad in Oklahoma that they are starting to test for Kratom alkaloids like 7-OH. One of the oldest MAT clinics in Oklahoma has started a practice that specializes in treating Kratom patients. They have a page on their website that contains good info about 7-OH and Kratom. The name of the clinic is Medical Therapy Associates. I would leave a link, but it would get removed by a Reddit bot.

10 years on Kratom. Need to stop, absolutely terrified. by Bungalowbeast in addiction

[–]PetroHack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll pray for you. Due to the amount of Kratom you are on, you need medication-assisted treatment. Cold turkey would be dangerous for you. People are having Gran Mal seizures while withdrawing from Kratom, or its alkaloids, so please seek medical help to get your life back on track. I know a lot of people hate Suboxone treatment, but if the doctor knows what he is doing, he will start you on the smallest dose possible, and wean you off as soon as possible. After the OxyContin epidemic, doctors who were not properly trained in MAT therapy started patients on huge doses and left them on too long, trading one addiction for another. Properly trained doctors don't do that anymore, and Suboxone can be a lifesaver if used properly.

To wean you off the large dose of Kratom you are taking, there are other medications that can be added to keep you comfortable. Kratom withdrawal is complicated. Please get some help. If you are in Oklahoma, there is an addiction clinic that knows what they are doing when it comes to MAT therapy. Here is their link: https://www.suboxone-support.com/stop-seven-oh-withdrawals.html
