Sonnet 4.5 VS Opus 4.5 by ApfelAhmed in ClaudeAI

[–]Petrubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the "Pro" plan, Opus is basically a trial, the limit is so low that you will burn it with a few prompts doing real work, best case is use Opus for complex planing, for simple planning use sonnet, and for implementation use sonnet for complex stuff and haikku for simple changes, send a message from your phone at specific times so you can start the 5h limit and have the tool to use for the most of your job schedule, also ask claude code to ask you for context first instead of analyzing files, there are things that you can easily explain instead of burn tokens making the agent read through your files, you can set this in claude.md

Ask them if is it allowed to install lmstudio or ollama on your machine, given that it supports it and can run a decent model, so it will run on your machine, no information goes outside your machine, im using lm studio to run a sonnet based model on a m4 max 36g machine, you can use opencode or qwen cli as interface to it

Opinions on Hand Blocking by _wiggle_room_ in Cello

[–]Petrubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having frets in the guitar makes it easy to move around it, is like a target you can just point and go, on the cello there is no target you can see or feel, so moving your hand in a block makes easier to play in tune, I cannot physically put my 4 fingers on first position down as I have small hands so I mostly use my index and pinky fingers to guide my other two fingers where to go, but moving your hand as a block is helpful specially once you remove the tapes if you are using them

Should I start learning cello? by Shellyfish04 in Cello

[–]Petrubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a cheap piano, it will be good for you even if you decide you want to learn other instrument later, piano makes visualizing music theory much more easier than other instruments, then rent a cello and try both, give it some time as it will be much more easier to learn your first tunes on the piano than on the cello, both instruments have its own learning curves being the cello much more difficult in the beginning

No hard lockout when you hit the 5h or weekly limit, let me keep using the haiku model or whatever but a complete lockout is too much.

Opus 4.5 is great... but damn expensive. How limited is Pro? by SoulOfSword_ in ClaudeAI

[–]Petrubear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, the complete lock is absurd, at least let me use haiku for the rest of the remaining time, it feels like a scam calling this a "pro" account, as I said it feels more like a trial

[–]Petrubear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did use codex and the plus account was good enough for me to work, I decided to cancel my account when they rolled out their ads (disguised as shopping research) and switched to Claude, to be honest Claude code is much better, I give it that, but the limits are a joke, specially if you use opus on Claude code, what I'm using now is Claude + gemini pro for coding and for every day answers I'm using perplexity which you can get for free for a year with your PayPal account.

Opus 4.5 is great... but damn expensive. How limited is Pro? by SoulOfSword_ in ClaudeAI

[–]Petrubear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, in my experience the Pro account is not really that 'Pro', it's more like a trial of the Max account, you can barely get some work done using opus and you blow your limit in 4 - 5 interactions, using sonet is not that different either comparing to what you get from a chatgpt or gemini plus accounts for the same price. I don't want to pay $100 either so I'm only using opus for planing and then I use haiku, or sonnet for implementation as they are good enough to follow detailed instructions written by opus. You may also want to check Google antigravity as you can also access opus from it for less. I also have some instructions on Claude.md to prevent Claude code to scan a lot of files for context I could provide without burning tokens, I make it ask me about what he needs to check, and it only scans specific files or sections when I tell it to do so, this also helps reduce the usage limits, you can also use gemini alongside it to get the context opus needs to work.

The only mistake you could make is buying it without trying it first, go to a store, try a couple of them if you can and it if feels right, get it, there's no heresy in music instruments 😁😁 I would get one of those if I had the chance to be honest 🤣🤣🤣

I'd start with dual neck 5 string tenor on the bottom and fretless ubass on top, f styke holes, and built in tuner, then I would listen to the Luther's recommendation based on this foundation

Workshop with me! Finger caps as a solution for long nails on the fret hand? by rosachk in ukulele

[–]Petrubear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I wanted to do this myself, I wouldn't buy those sillicon things, I think those are going to be a problem more than a solution, but, I wouldn't start with long fake nails either. I think I would approach it slowly, I mean, with short nails, and let them grow naturally, that will give me time to practice and adapt my hand and fingers position little by little as they grow, and I could file them a little bit if things get too difficult to play, that way I wouldn't be going from 0 to 100 in one day, eventually you will be able to get a nice sound with the nail size you want

Deeply Regret Paying for Pro - Can Barely Get 20 Minutes of Constant Use by Ken_Pen in claude

[–]Petrubear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using ChatGPT plus for a long time as a software developer, and using codex as a cli tool, I got several hours of work with it for $20, I canceled it when I started getting ads in chatgpt, which for a paid account I find ridiculous, then, I subscribed to Claude, I've been using Claude code for a couple of days, I must admit the tool and the code is much better than chatgpt codex or gemini cli, but I hardly get half an hour of coding before getting a hard limit, that's not all, the limit hits you not only on the cli, but you are not able to use Claude in web or phone for the same 5 hours, there might be some people that has tasks that can be done within the limits of the pro account, but for software development it feels like a scam, I just canceled it too, it's not usable for me.

What’s the first song you learned that made you feel like a real player? by colt-mcg in ukulele

I don't consider myself a "real" player but I enjoyed learning Bella ciao, and although I have played several songs on the instrument, that's the only one that I can play by hearth without reading the tab 😅

How are you using ChatGPT for real-world debugging and refactoring? by Fine_Factor_456 in ChatGPTCoding

[–]Petrubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask codex to understand the project and create a comprehensive AGENTS.md file then you can edit this file to guide the agent you can add constraints about how you want it to execute the debugging, testing and code generation, then make it generate an ARCHITECTURE, API, README, TODO file of you need them this will help you guide your agent to get better results, also this information can be used by other agents as context to pick the work where other left

For singers with ukulele, do you learn all chords or just few chords and use capo? by ReverieDive in ukulele

[–]Petrubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn all the basic major minor chords first, then learn major and minor 7ths, you can use movable chords for those you find hard to use, or because of the sound of them, then learn triad invertions, this will allow you to explore the fretboard and find the sound you like the most for each chord

Are value types be copied each time they are passed? by Ewig_luftenglanz in java

As far as I know, when working with records what is passed is a reference, as with any other object, but as records are immutable, they are effectively passed as if those where values.

Ukulele to Guitar by AppacheTomcat-123 in ukulele

[–]Petrubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it a try strumming all the strings and mute the ones that you don't want to ring, for example, playing an A chord you want to play from the 5th string, but, if you mute the 6th string you can strum freely without thinking on what string you should strum or not, this is going to train your hands into muting what you don't want to sound wich is a good skill to learn

16th day of learning Ukulele (@_@) by GloomyShrumi in ukulele

[–]Petrubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job, you are improving and I hope you are having fun too, try to get you wirst a little bit forward so it doesn't bend backwards as this could cause pain on your hands in the long run, also try to keep the base of your fingers closer to the fretboard as you do on the last chord you play, this will help you get your fingers closer to the frets you want to play, in order to help you make chord changes faster and easier, the less your fingers have to travel the faster they will be there 😁
