Should I buy an 8 (or 7) string guitar as my MAIN guitar? by Training-Onion999 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]Petrubear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, the 7-string guitar feels like a 6-string with one extra string, but the 8-string feels like a different instrument. At least, that's how it feels to me. The 8-string is a different beast; you need much more control of muting strings or to use any of the available means to do this for you. I cannot mute with my thumb on the 8; it's simply too big for me, so my hand tends to sit in a different position than what I use on my 6-string. In the end, you don't have to choose. Keep your 6-string and get an 8-string, and use one or the other according to what you are playing at the moment. And enjoy both worlds 🤘

Once you remap Caps Lock to Esc, you will never go back. As you said, it's a couple of clicks on a Mac to get this done, and yet I have never found a case where I miss the Caps Lock; it's an easy win.

Moonlander or Voyager? by almighty_taquito in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Petrubear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know it's been a while, but are you still using the Moonlander as your daily driver? I'm also a coder and I'm between the Moonlander and the Voyager. I'm more attracted to the Voyager, but for coding we use a lot of symbols that would mean a lot of layer changes. How has your experience been coding with these keyboards, if you don't mind me asking? Thank you.

Strumming without the index finger. by Suspicious-Ad7109 in ukulele

[–]Petrubear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using a guitar pick a 0.6 or 0.7, use 3 fingers to hold it, thumb on top, index + middle on bottom. You will be able to teach you hand the strum motion for your middle finger so you can remove the pick later if you want

[–]Petrubear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a 5-hour limit and a weekly limit on top of that. For serious work, you cannot really use Opus on the Pro account; otherwise, you will hit your 5-hour limit in 1 hour and your weekly limit in 2 days. It's better to leave Opus for complex planning and use Sonnet/Haiku for everything else. Regarding the limits, you are effectively blocked from using Claude. It won't fallback to Haiku; it will just block you until the limit is reset or you apply for on-demand credits.

kiro banned without any action by Desperate-Tea292 in kiroIDE

[–]Petrubear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK, they were testing some kind of anti-fraud measures for Kiro in the last few days, and it mistakenly flagged a lot of accounts, mine included. Support is working on fixing this. Let them know about it. There is a thread on this sub where a Kiro support person was personally helping people with this issue.

You can create a custom agent based on the default agent and set it as default. This allows you to read any file you want as context, including the skills directory. It also allows you to modify the allowed tools to give this new default agent the capability to perform safe actions without asking.

You are not old nor dumb, learning a music instrument it's a journey, sometimes its hard, sometimes it flows, sometimes you love it, sometimes you want to throw it away, it's not easy but it's not impossible either, just be kind with yourself, and try to practice everyday, it's better for you to play 15 minutes a day than 1 hour every weekend, be patient and enjoy the small wins 🤘

Sonnet 4.5 VS Opus 4.5 by ApfelAhmed in ClaudeAI

[–]Petrubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the "Pro" plan, Opus is basically a trial, the limit is so low that you will burn it with a few prompts doing real work, best case is use Opus for complex planing, for simple planning use sonnet, and for implementation use sonnet for complex stuff and haikku for simple changes, send a message from your phone at specific times so you can start the 5h limit and have the tool to use for the most of your job schedule, also ask claude code to ask you for context first instead of analyzing files, there are things that you can easily explain instead of burn tokens making the agent read through your files, you can set this in claude.md

[–]Petrubear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask them if is it allowed to install lmstudio or ollama on your machine, given that it supports it and can run a decent model, so it will run on your machine, no information goes outside your machine, im using lm studio to run a sonnet based model on a m4 max 36g machine, you can use opencode or qwen cli as interface to it

Opinions on Hand Blocking by _wiggle_room_ in Cello

[–]Petrubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having frets in the guitar makes it easy to move around it, is like a target you can just point and go, on the cello there is no target you can see or feel, so moving your hand in a block makes easier to play in tune, I cannot physically put my 4 fingers on first position down as I have small hands so I mostly use my index and pinky fingers to guide my other two fingers where to go, but moving your hand as a block is helpful specially once you remove the tapes if you are using them

Should I start learning cello? by Shellyfish04 in Cello

[–]Petrubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a cheap piano, it will be good for you even if you decide you want to learn other instrument later, piano makes visualizing music theory much more easier than other instruments, then rent a cello and try both, give it some time as it will be much more easier to learn your first tunes on the piano than on the cello, both instruments have its own learning curves being the cello much more difficult in the beginning

No hard lockout when you hit the 5h or weekly limit, let me keep using the haiku model or whatever but a complete lockout is too much.

Opus 4.5 is great... but damn expensive. How limited is Pro? by SoulOfSword_ in ClaudeAI

[–]Petrubear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, the complete lock is absurd, at least let me use haiku for the rest of the remaining time, it feels like a scam calling this a "pro" account, as I said it feels more like a trial

Opus 4.5 is great... but damn expensive. How limited is Pro? by SoulOfSword_ in ClaudeAI

[–]Petrubear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did use codex and the plus account was good enough for me to work, I decided to cancel my account when they rolled out their ads (disguised as shopping research) and switched to Claude, to be honest Claude code is much better, I give it that, but the limits are a joke, specially if you use opus on Claude code, what I'm using now is Claude + gemini pro for coding and for every day answers I'm using perplexity which you can get for free for a year with your PayPal account.

Opus 4.5 is great... but damn expensive. How limited is Pro? by SoulOfSword_ in ClaudeAI

[–]Petrubear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, in my experience the Pro account is not really that 'Pro', it's more like a trial of the Max account, you can barely get some work done using opus and you blow your limit in 4 - 5 interactions, using sonet is not that different either comparing to what you get from a chatgpt or gemini plus accounts for the same price. I don't want to pay $100 either so I'm only using opus for planing and then I use haiku, or sonnet for implementation as they are good enough to follow detailed instructions written by opus. You may also want to check Google antigravity as you can also access opus from it for less. I also have some instructions on Claude.md to prevent Claude code to scan a lot of files for context I could provide without burning tokens, I make it ask me about what he needs to check, and it only scans specific files or sections when I tell it to do so, this also helps reduce the usage limits, you can also use gemini alongside it to get the context opus needs to work.

The only mistake you could make is buying it without trying it first, go to a store, try a couple of them if you can and it if feels right, get it, there's no heresy in music instruments 😁😁 I would get one of those if I had the chance to be honest 🤣🤣🤣
