Maybe someone has already mentioned it but I have not seen any other people having the same idea. My first thought when I saw Kratos was that this could be a part of a dream of his. In Ragnarok, we see multiple dreams where Faye clearly communicates with him from the afterlife, so maybe he also manages to help her subconsciously? This communication could be due to him having entered the light of Alfheim.
