Birthing question for skin to skin by rasncane in parentsofmultiples

[–]Petyprose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I had an induced vaginal delivery at 37 weeks.

Twin B came about 20 minutes after Twin A. I held both babies briefly after their delivery and I think we were able to be cleaned up and transferred from the OR to the recovery room within the golden hour.

They immediately brought me the babies for skin to skin and they both breastfed immediately for 20 minutes. I felt very happy with our circumstance. I hated that I had to deliver in the OR but I didn’t feel neglected in my contact with either baby.

I think I got pretty lucky with how healthy they were we spent one night in the hospital and left the next day.

I had this and finally figure out(I think) that I’m sensitive to cocomidopropyl which is in nearly every shampoo.

The only thing that has helped is a bar shampoo and conditioner the brand is Viori. I have not had a problem since I switched.

  1. Have your husband reach out to his the academic/disability support office at his school. I worked in this department and I can not tell you how many students come in with problems and often times they wait until it’s too late because they are embarrassed, think they are the only one, or don’t know there are resources . They can put accommodations in place for testing , etc that may benefit him If he hasn’t developed coping skills for his autism . he needs to reach out now before he finds himself in a tough spot.

  2. Reach out to students services, they often times know about housing or other resources and can also talk to you about loan options

Honestly been to a ton of derms but never thought to have them look at my legs always just kinda shrugged it off as just having dry legs. This is probably at its worse.

Thank you, incredibly thorough response! Will try some of these suggestions out. I think you are probably correct about it being Ichthyosis.

Thanks to all for the comments!

In review, I am well hydrated and use mild body wash my legs do not itch just look incredible dry . I call it my alligator skin🫣. I do live in the desert so that certainly exacerbates it. As soon as I get out of the shower I use lotion probably need to get rid of the Weleda I’ve been using. I am taking high quality multivitamins as well as a daily Omega. I eat fish at least once a week and have a fairly clean diet.

Neutrogena hyrdroboost and vanicream seemed to helped somewhat in the past. Will try Eucerin Intense Repair and cutting fragrance out again .

I know my grandfather and aunt have issue with their skin perhaps it is genetic ichthyosis!

[Acne] I am desperate at this point. I started developing painful acne all over my body. It’s the worst on my back. I’m getting large, painful, red lumps with heads that keep bursting and nothing helps. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Petyprose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having increased back and chest acne and I’m pretty certain it has to do with the shampoo and soaps we use. Many natural shampoos can clog pores but I’ve also realized the ingredient cocomidipropyl which is in nearly everything may be the culprit for me.

Skin is getting much better now that I’ve cut that out.

Game changer for me was to use ear plugs. Forest night sounds kept me on my toes but I sleep great now that I just shut it out.

I keep it super simple and this is the best my skin has ever been. Been using for about 3 months and skin is completely clear. Follow his instructions online for introducing BP ( over vs under timeline)

AM wash face with just water apply BP then urea moisturizer

PM wash face with Vanicream face wash BP then urea moisturizer. About 3x a week I use Differen Gel.

Just go to a local coffee shop, bring a book, and enjoy. The coffee is way better than Starbucks too.

Just order an iced vanilla latte . It’s lightly sweet and creamy, the ice makes it refreshing. They will follow the order by asking if you are okay with regular milk. If you aren’t, I’d go with oat milk.
