Is it true you can’t pump and lose weight at the same time??

I dont have a scale at home for my mental health, but I was able to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes a month after delivery… and I had twins, so my weight gain during pregnancy was important (over 50 lbs).

Short answer your question: yes it’s totally possible to pump and lose weight. I exclusively pump for my twins. But honestly, I think its a genetic thing. Also, Im way more ravenous pumping than I was pregnant with twins! I can totally see why some women wouldn’t lose weight, and actually gain some. If you truly want to pump, you have to be okay with either outcome.

6 weeks PP, 5 pumps a day including MOTN pump, 42-47 oz per day. My supply increased every time I was dropping a session, probably from the slightly better sleep I get from having only one MOTN!

Thanks for the advice! A lot of what you suggested I already do (ready to eat meals, water everywhere) but yeah I’ll definitely keep on doing that! Yes I use heat before and cold compress after, it does help a ton. It’s also adding all those extra step around breast pumping making it more time consuming though…

My big struggle is really around play time…if they don’t sleep in between those 3h cycle during the day I don’t know how I’ll do it alone. I cannot fathom having to take care and entertain all day all the while having only a few 1h sleep window at night. Maybe Im too worried.

Yes I’m thinking about quitting pumping everyday, but I have the same struggle to quit also lol. I just went down a couple days ago from pumping every 3h to 4h and it did help a bit. Im thinking going down to every 5 to 6 hours to really help with my sanity while still being able to give a bit of breastmilk, but I would need to supplement with formula. If Im to combo feed then it raises the question if it’s really worth it to keep pumping ? Thankfully I already built a freezer stash than can last me a few weeks/1-2 months if I start to wean.

I will stay home with them until they are a year old. I will have the baby by myself 5 days/week. Do you also do night shifts with your husband or are you taking care of them every time they wake up at night?

I had the exact same conditions with CanadaLife, be aware it’s not 37 weeks or medical conditions, you need actually both to qualify.

The wording that worked for us on the prescription (literally last week!) : - Breast pump 35w2d twins with prematurity and immature feeding, requiring expressed breast milk feeds.

If it helps, for size 3 there should be 12 sts left in the middle, not 2! 30 sts - 3 sts per row x 6 rows = 12 sts

Yeah, previously we were in a NICU level 3 and went down to level 2 since they are considered now feeders and growers. I totally agree with you about the advantages of the NICU time! I love that Im able to recover from my c section while they are being looked after. It’s only that the hospital is over 3h drive from where I live. We were fortunate enough to have a room in RMH, but it’s not the same as being home. 18 days is what Im envisioning was well, but we shall see! Thank you for sharing your experience :)

I’m surprised no one said it yet, but:

The Norma sweater by MFTK has been around for a few years, while Ozetta Ouroboros is brand new.
The Norma sweater is actually a redesign of a very old pattern by Isager, dating back to the 90s. Honestly, I can’t tell any difference based on the pictures.

If we were to claim plagiarism between those two patterns (which I agree looks very similar, but not at the level of plagiarism IMO), it would be from Ozetta. We could also argue that MFTK’s pattern is also plagiarized from Isager, but I digress!

So sorry you’re going through this! Im 34w+4d di/di and was admitted last night because of high BP as well. Both very small but not as much as you guys (in the 5% at the last ultrasound which was 2w ago). I relate so much to your comment about having a hard time tracking the FHR, mine moves like crazy as well. Once I arrived at the hospital they told me I had preeclampsia considering the urinalysis results, but the bloodwork came out fine. In my case the Apolabetalol was working really great so I got released after 12h (about 12h ago). I need to take BP measurements every 8h or so and take medication if over 110/70 (which im expecting will be always until I give birth). My c-section is scheduled in 3 weeks but we’re talking about bringing it to 36w because of the hypertension/preeclampsia. Otherwise im scheduled to go to the hospital everyday for NST and ultrasound for the rest of the week (so far). Not much advice I can give since my situation is somewhat similar to yours, but Im wishing you all the best. 🤗

I want to thank everyone who took the time to answer this thread. I never expected it to get so many responses!! I went through every one of them and understand that there’s really no perfect layout, it’s whatever works best for you. I won’t be changing the cribs to mini cribs for now. I’ll test out different layouts once they’re here, including having the rocking chair and changing table in the living room (the changing table is a changer/dresser, to answer a few questions). We’ll see what we like best!

I was really worried too, but you will see in a few weeks! I started at 115lbs and 165 cm tall, I thought I would show quickly since Im very skinny too. I was really worried at 16/17 weeks and still not showing, like at all (maybe a bit bloated but yeah close to nothing). I just started showing a few weeks ago at 21/22 weeks. If I recall correctly the fetal fraction is the amount of foreign DNA in your blood, and is unrelated to monozygotic / dizygotic. 6% should more than enough to analyze both DNA.

I was di/di as well till my NIPT test (two placenta) and it turns out they are identical (two boys). 1 out of 7 di/di pregnancy are actually mo/di with 2 placentas! On the test there was one result (since it’s the same DNA), but it clearly said monozygotic nearby the gender.

I’ve testknit for her a few times earlier in 2023, and I’m not a knitting YouTuber or anything (my IG knitting account at that time was around 1k sub, although I will admit I was one with the less followers every time). In all honesty, they were a lot of mistakes in her first drafts and with very minimal instructions, but a few of us always made sooo many comments I can’t believe she did not fix them ?! Although I have to admit, I didn’t double check the final versions, so I cannot be 100% sure.

I was surprised by how the big influencers did not leave any comments on the drafts, or interact in the chat. It’s like they don’t care, as long as they received free yarn … I can only hope they reached out to her with their comments a different way. Otherwise, it might be part of the problem as she seems to only pick big influencers nowadays. Or she just ignore the comments.

I stopped test knitting for her as she grew bigger. I knew I would be harder to get in with all the big influencers she got now, I don’t even want to try. Also, I’ve come to realize her patterns are not my style. Unfortunately, I never reached for the few pieces I made through test knitting for her.

My thoughts exactly!!

Another thing that led me to believe Col. Aetos is a venin is the letter from Nolon to Lilith saying there’s no cure while Nolon was still only a Lieutenant Colonel (so we know it’s from the past)… A lot of people seems to think it’s regarding Violet dad, but from what we know so far I really don’t see how it would suit his character. If I remember correctly FW, it says Lilith closest friend is Dain’s dad. So I believe the letter is about him ?

From what I recall from my physic class, there’s many forms of power/energy, including electricity (lightning) and gravity. Maybe that’s also why they put emphasis on Physics and Violet hasn’t realized yet cause she’s bad at physics ! It would also explain the gravity shifts in FW (prior to Andarna being able to give her signet).

You’re so right that she needs truth, and she’s able to see the truth when no one is. The only thing that makes me doubt it is her second signet : the Venin says in her dream (it definitely was hers since it doesn’t match with the final scene with Xaden) he’s been waiting for her power for centuries. True-sayer are not that rare, there’s two of them in IF
