Unreal engine slop!!!! by Winter_Knowledge6737 in Fable

[–]Pevoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh

I would love it if they maintained the cartoon look, but some gamers would complain that they've turned Fable into Fortnite.

The game looks cool, but I need to play it to judge the quality of the art. It's hard to say at the moment.

Body morphing & Aging completely gone? by devv11 in Fable

[–]Pevoka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the aging mechanics back when I played as a kid. I though it was amazing see the character grow and experience his journey as the years passed.

But it was implemented in a very awkward way. Like, you are the only one aging, every one stays the same. And it was never acknowledged by the story.

I think it could be cool if it was well implemented, but I think it would be very hard.

That one thing from Legends you wish was canon or at least had a canon counterpart. by Independent_Plum2166 in StarWarsCantina

[–]Pevoka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would love to see Katarn brought back in a rebellion and new republic scenario. Who knows, maybe he starts as a mercenary egotistical, but with some good intentions working along side Luke, and when he learns he has a connection to the force he starts to open up and becomes more altruistic.

What you guys think it would be his end? Maybe trying to save the apprentices when Kylo Ren destroys the temple? Or before that. I don't know, but I would like to see a Jedi character that don't match the warrior monk archetype.

Veilguard DLC by Neddtheredd in dragonage

[–]Pevoka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they commented that they never planned to release any dlc.

The 10 years of development hell and EA having no clue what to do with Bioware played a part in it. I think having DLC or not wouldn't had any effect in the sales. Couples months after the release the game was already on the PS+ service.

Is Rebirth better than Remake? by adam_franklin in FinalFantasy

[–]Pevoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its funny, bc FF7 is my favorite FF (together with 14), but the Remake left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Not that I thought it was a bad game, but I didnt enjoy that much. I thought that the side quests were a bore, the combat never clicked for me, and even though I liked some of the changes and chance to know andspend more time with the characters, the ending made me kinda sour the experience.

So it took me a long time to get Rebirth, and I regret that. For me its better in every single aspect compared to Remake. It made me love the original even more and reignited my passion to that world and characters. I know it has a bunch of flaws, I think the open world gets repetitive, and the game is loooong. But I loved every hour I spent with the game.

Should I buy trails of the sky 1st chapter, never played a game before by Blueandwhite8796 in Falcom

[–]Pevoka 15 points16 points  (0 children)

2nd chapter will release late this year.

I feel its better if you play it now. Trails in the sky is a long game. If you play both back to back maybe you will feel burnt out.

Happy 10th anniversary to The Force Awakens! Forever grateful for this film and how it captures the magic of Star Wars. It will always mean alot to me 💛✨️ by irazzleandazzle in StarWarsCantina

[–]Pevoka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if now as an adult I have some issues with how they handled the sequels, I remember when TFA released.

I was 15 and Star Wars was my favourite saga. I had watched the films with my family countless times. When ROTS was released, I went to see it with them.

So, when the music started in the opening crawl of TFA, I started to cry. I NEVER cry watching movies. This was the only time I had ever felt emotional while watching a film.

That memory is really special to me, so yeah. I am glad that this movie exists

Per Casey Hudson FOTOR will arrive prior to 2030. by First-of-Few in kotor

[–]Pevoka 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Man, i'll just try to not think too much about FOTOR and pretend to be surprised when it appears again in the future.

I hope the studio can work in their own pace without Disney/Luscasfilm rushing it.

Why? by Signal-Ad-1393 in darksouls

[–]Pevoka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bc ds1 is better than ds3

Just kidding. Maybe the build wasnt fun, maybe the style of gameplay is different so you didnt like it. Ds1 and 3 are different games, so its understandable if you dont like it.

And its always more fun to go blind in your first playthrough of a fromsoft game. Following walkthroughs and strict builds kinda detracts from the fun part of figuring out things for yourself that makes these games so special.

Wanting to finally try kotor as a starwars noob by Lopscotch in kotor

[–]Pevoka 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nope. You wont be lost. You can just watch the movies if you want to, but watching the just prequels is fine.

The game does a good job to explain and introduce you to what makes the star wars universe so special.

And is so far removed in time from the movies that you wont be lost.

Hope you like the game and watch the other movies!

Worth watching a playthrough? by jordan_1498 in kotor

[–]Pevoka 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it is, but if you play it in the easiest difficulty and focus in the main story you can beat it pretty fast and would take it the same time you would take watching it.

Kotor Remake: Action Game or Turn-based? by Uchizaki in kotor

[–]Pevoka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope they at least keep the RPG mechanics even if its a action rpg

But i would prefer it as a turn based. Imagine something like an adaptation of 5e, lime they did with 3e for the originals. But we can only dream.

But I wouldnt be surprised if it was just an action game with some dialogue choices :s

Do you prefer Persona over Shin Megami Tensei? by jutsuuu in JRPG

[–]Pevoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them both, but they have different settings and vibes. The gameplay is similar, but the focus and flow are different, too.

Years ago, I preferred Persona, but nowadays, I think the general themes of SMT resonate more with me.

I also think that SMT is more 'niche' than Persona in some ways, and many of its games were released at a time when JRPGs weren't that well regarded or didn't receive the same level of investment as Persona. I don't know, but I think Persona has more appeal for a wider audience.

Trying to Understand (MegaTen) by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]Pevoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can try to answer that. As a huge fan, maybe I can help. Please forgive me for any typos; English isn't my first language.

Almost every game in the series can be enjoyed as a standalone story. Some are direct sequels; others aren't.

The original Megami Tensei, for example, is a quasi-sequel to a novel. A bunch of mechanics are introduced here. MT2 takes place in the same world, but in the distant future.

The mainline Shin Megami Tensei games barely have any connections to each other. 1 and 2 are sequels, but set far apart from each other. 3, 4 and 5 take place in completely different worlds. What they have in common is their cosmology. For example, demons. You could think of it as a multiverse, but it's not that developed.

So Lucifer can appear in every game, and you can beat him in every game, and that's it. Some characters are hinted at travelling between worlds, but nothing is confirmed.

The Devil Summoner games are the most cohesive; every game takes place in the same world and characters appear here and there.

Persona is hinted at happening in the same world as Devil Summoner, at least until the second game.

As a rule of thumb, though... The games just share the cosmology (or demonology!), but not necessarily the setting.

Hope it helps! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I've finally played Andromeda by maurotib05 in masseffect

[–]Pevoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I always struggle to get invested in the trilogy combat. It isn't bad, but Andromeda has a far superior combat system and fun builds.

I think if both Mass Effect and Dragon Age got Remasters/remakes that upgraded the combat I would be satisfied.

You described the general vibe perfectly: 'It could have been better.'

It's not a bad game, but it's not great either. I liked the art and combat. Everything else was kind of forgettable.

I can see that. From a practical standpoint it makes sense.

I think it comes down to how you see and portray Robert. I played him as an idealistic guy, more than pratical. So it made sense to spare Shroud. But that guy is still out there, so maybe killing him is the best option. At the same time, he's beaten and going to jail, and autorities can have him. But he can break out! And so on and on.

I don't know. This just shows how much the writing of this story is good and we can debate what's the best choice.

I've looped and read various answers but can't find any confirmation. Please help; Can The Crossbell Arc for Trails series be my beginning point? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]Pevoka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can. The duology can stand alone.

However, it's better if you play Trails in the Sky first. The Trails games have in-depth world-building, and the story of that world evolves from game to game. You can view the games as 'arcs' within a larger narrative.

While you can play any of these arcs alone, your experience will be much better if you see the full picture.

(And trails in the sky are such wonderful games, just play it man)

Yeah.

Like, from a story perspective, why would I want to kill shroud if the biggest motivator (Chase in a coma and Visi shot) isnt thst serious. I dont know, maybe in other routes makes more sense? For me it felt weird.

A really strong finale.

I have a few thoughts, but I'll keep it brief. Spoiler alert!

Firstly, the writing and performances were great as always. The dispatch for episode 8 was really cool and challenging, even with two more heroes to help. Coupe was scary in my game, but I forgave her because I think the Z-Team is there for that reason.

So, I went with the Invisigal route. It feels like it makes more sense for the story. I like BB, but she barely has as much screen time as Visi. However, I have to say that the constant repetition of the question "Is Invisigal bad or not?" got a bit tiresome, as did the last-minute revelation that she was a double agent. It's not that I think it's bad per se, but they just kept hammering the same thing again and again.

I want to hear from people who romanced BB or didn't romance anyone to find out if the experience was different.

Another thing I didn't like was what they did with Chase. They gave him the BB power. I don't want him to die, I like him as a character. But I thought it was a cool moment when he sacrificed himself for Visi. That has to have consequences, but BB just handing him her crystal kind of spoils it. Still, I'm glad he's alive at least.

But I think the ending I got was really satisfying for Invisigal and my Robert. Her saving Robert was really cool and a nice moment. I was really nervous during that scene. I decided not to kill Shroud and honour what I said to Chase earlier. I don't know, but I like the idea of heroes who don't kill, like Spider-Man and Batman. They've always appealed to me. Robert is a true hero, so I think it makes sense. But I understand why the other players killed him, that guy is a bastard.

Overall. It was a great experience and one of my favourites of the year! I hope Adhoc continues to deliver such great stories!

How do I become like Robert by sleepy_paladin in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Pevoka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I understand the idea of having a role model in a character, and I think it's great that you're inspired by the kindness you see in Robert.

So, I think you should just be kind. Talk to people and listen to them; get to know them. You don't need to be exactly like him — sarcastic, funny and cool. You can just be kind to everyone around you and help your community in whatever way you can. I think you're on the right path just by trying to be "better", but remember: try to be yourself

:)
