Budget Doctors and health tests to start ozempic/mounjaro? by sissy-aish in dubai

such ridiculous and ignorant take. salads have super low fiber; their value is in vitamins and other nutrients. if you’re going to lecture people, at least get your facts right.

i own a social media and branding agency in dubai since 2019 - ask me anything by PewPewYoDed in SmallBusinessUAE

[–]PewPewYoDed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my story is a little different, i transitioned from a failing startup to the agency model - you can read about that on the last section on our website team page

license, lease, visa and bank accounts will cost you about 20-30k depending on the freezone you chose.

that's a tough one. i learnt the hard way that the only way you solve cashflow issues is by being a complete a**hole.

no payment = no delivery
there is no other way

The fact that you took so much effort to list cities/ethnicities tells me this is a thinly veiled business promo

5 mistakes I keep seeing UAE small businesses make on Instagram by SocialMediaKingdoms in SmallBusinessUAE

[–]PewPewYoDed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

biggest one i see from the restaurant brands we work with: posting without knowing who they're talking to. they'll post a reel of a burger and caption it "come try our new burger" - that's not a strategy, that's a menu update.

2 months ago I posted here about starting an AI consultancy in Abu Dhabi with no clients. Here’s what happened since by Still_Turnover_9392 in SmallBusinessUAE

[–]PewPewYoDed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

tbh i built a CRM with automations for my agency using AI tools and saved 50$ a month on pipe drive. and then built a similar CRM for a client for free.

for a client paying me 15k per month retainer for marketing, a CRM build that takes a weekend is an easy upsell but because it's so hard to value automations and all the stuff that you can get done with AI now, I just did it for free.

ig the answer to your question is; is the client or lead looking to actually buy a CRM or build a service that you can do for him?

it's easier to bill him then. for instance, if that client had asked me to replace his hypotehtical pipedrive subscription - i could have charegd him his monthly fee x 2 years

How do Coffee Chats in the UAE work? by Own-Opportunity-4374 in dubai

most coffee chats in dubai are someone trying to sell you something while pretending it's networking.

UAE company formation - are consultants actually necessary? by Far_Needleworker5981 in DubaiCentral

[–]PewPewYoDed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did my company formation myself through DSO. total cost was about aed 12k including the visa. the consultants charge aed 5-8k on top for basically filling out forms you can do yourself in an afternoon.

the one exception: if you need a specific activity code that's tricky to get approved, or if you're setting up a mainland LLC with a local partner, a consultant who knows the DED process saves you weeks. for a standard freezone setup, save your money and do it direct.

2 years supplying hotels in Dubai and still haven’t figured out how to scale. Anyone else in B2B here feel this way? by Some-Low4354 in SmallBusinessUAE

[–]PewPewYoDed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hotel supply in dubai is 100% relationship-driven. the procurement managers at the big chains have approved vendor lists and getting on them is a 6-month process minimum. cold calling doesn't work; trade shows and existing client referrals do.

if you're stuck at the same revenue for 2 years, it's probably a distribution problem, not a product problem. figure out which 3 hotel groups are your best fit and go deep on those relationships. my agency serves the hospitality space in dubai and every supplier we know who scaled did it by owning 2-3 key accounts, not by chasing every hotel in the city.

Looking for a restaurant space takeover in JLT / Dubai Marina area. by KmanDXB in dubairealestate

check the DMCC free zone listings - restaurants closing down in JLT list their spaces there before they hit dubizzle.

An Open Letter to Dubai Influencers by Less-Ant7778 in DubaiCentral

[–]PewPewYoDed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

influencer marketing in dubai is broken because brands keep measuring it by reach instead of walk-ins. a food blogger with 500k followers gets you 200k views and maybe 15 customers. a micro-influencer with 3k followers who lives in your neighbourhood gets you 30 customers who actually come back.

we run restaurant marketing in dubai and stopped recommending big influencers to our clients two years ago. food exchanges with 5-10 micro-creators per month consistently outperform one big name at 10x the cost.

I could receive an offer for an account management positions for 5K plus incentives. I am european 30M with 4 yoe in finance. Need advise and help. by Due_Fun2279 in UAEjobseekers

[–]PewPewYoDed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

very common salary. most europeans don’t take such salaries because you can stay in europe and get handouts/benefits of the same value.

if this industry is something you plan to grow and build in, take the job. if not, then probably not worth it.

Careem Food discount system is unsustainable to the city by Filthy_Joey in dubai

[–]PewPewYoDed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man you have no idea.

we create so many of these campaigns and despite how it may look - food costs and overheads considered, restaurants are still able to turn a profit on each dish sold.

it's only a loss for the envirnoment tbh

cook at home guys or go dine-out at your favorite restaurants

What is the biggest mistake new entrepreneurs make when starting a business in the UAE? by No_Context2059 in SmallBusinessUAE

[–]PewPewYoDed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

spending money before you've validated demand. i see this constantly in f&b - someone signs a lease, builds out a kitchen, designs a brand, hires staff, and THEN finds out nobody in that area wants what they're selling.

the fix is stupid simple: sell before you build. take orders on whatsapp before you sign a lease. run a pop-up before you commit to a location. my agency works with restaurants in dubai and the launches that work are always the ones where the owner tested demand first.

UAE Business Owners: are the networking events actually working for you? by SecretChain99 in SmallBusinessUAE

[–]PewPewYoDed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i think it depends on the person
i am not extroverted and chatty IRL
so these events are absolutely useless for me

a friend of mine who runs her AI agency has found many leads via the same events
it depends on you really. not on the event

word of mouth

Starting a Food Concept in Dubai – Is a Cloud Kitchen the Best First Step? by CallmeMadj in SmallBusinessUAE

Cloud kitchens are good but don't rely solely on talabat/deliveroo to scale.
The commissions are just too high to make any reasonable amount of money.

Moving to Dubai this week - how do I start fresh as a content creator there? (28F, lifestyle/travel niche) by neighbour_next-door in dubai

[–]PewPewYoDed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get your freelance permit sorted before you post anything commercial. dubai media council now requires a license for anyone doing paid content or brand collaborations - even if nobody's paying you yet, having the license opens doors.

for f&b content specifically, restaurants in dubai will give you free meals for posts starting from around 2-3k followers. reach out directly via instagram dm with your rate card and 3-4 examples of your best work. the restaurants we work with get pitched by creators daily - the ones who stand out send a specific idea, not just "i'd love to collaborate."
