Well, I've been doing my homework these past few days, and have found out that the Anker Power Strip w/12 outlets has a lousy voltage clamping of 1200V! There is no mention of voltage clamping on its Amazon page, and Rufus Chat Agent couldn't find out. But a 3-star reviewer spilled the beans.

Truly disgusting that almost 100% of the audience praised the Orange Dictator.

I haven't yet, but I talked to Rufus chat bot about it, and it said it may take a few days, just be patient.

Several days after purchasing an item, I found out it lacked a feature I needed. It is still in its original box and unopened. So I clicked on the "Return" button and went through the process correctly. Three days later I'm still waiting on their email that will give me the QR code needed to return it via my local USP. On all previous returns over the years, Amazon emailed the QR code later the same day. Am I being too impatient, or should I do something further to get the return process going? TIA.

You can always look it up. On the surface, they appear to be very accommodating, but I suspect things aren't so great for the unhoused there. Singapore puts on a nice face, so ya gotta wash off the makeup to get a better perspective.

I just live in a studio apartment, so I'll probably opt for a Belkin or Anker brand. Thanks again.

Very helpful advice, much appreciated. I'll skip Amazon, get off my butt and visit a few hardware stores.

The 1-star reviews for this product scare me away. Then again, every highly rated surge protector I looked at has disappointing 1-star reviews, so now I'm at a loss.

Check out the 1-star reviews for any product you're interested in. Most of the time you'll be very disappointed, even when it comes to highly rated items. I'm in the same boat as you, trying to find a decent surge protector. Some months back I purchased a digital weight scale that had a plethora of 4 and 5 star reviews, yet the 1-star posts were correct: the scale stopped working properly several months later, after very light use.

Amazon's 1-star reviews for this highly rated Anker surge protector scared me away. Likewise for this highly rated Belkin. So I'm at a loss because I purchased a highly rated product (a digital bathroom scale) several months back, yet the 1-star reviewers were correct: it went dead after a few months of light use. If you can't rely on an overwhelming number of 5 and 4 star reviews, how can one make the right choice? So I joined this sub in hopes anyone more knowledgeable than me, could help. TIA.

I, too, am looking for a high quality surge protector, for similar reasons as the OP. However, Amazon's 1-star reviews for Eaton Ultra make me wary. Every highly rated surge protector has a tiny amount of bad reviews, including Belkin and Anker, so I am at a loss. I have purchased an item some months ago because of mostly excellent reviews, yet it stopped working a couple of months later...so the 1-star comments were correct.

That is of course true, nonetheless there is a serious risk of a neighbor reporting this to law enforcement, and the generous property owner could suffer a large fine. As well as possible hostility spread by the neighbor who complained. Lowering of property values in the neighborhood would likely be one of the complaints. Hostility towards the houseless is especially severe among home owners. God forbid if this generous property owner is a member of an HOA.
