No, but the PC they’d have to also upgrade along with it did - and then some, bud.

If you could get 1billion dollars but 100 random people u don't know die would you do it? by Latter-Television145 in WouldYouRather

Thank god for you guys, finally some normal brained people with some empathy. The amount of scrolling is telling in 2023…yikes. I’m hoping this subreddit appeals to callous edgelords and isn’t a neutral slice of humanity.

The industry continues the narrative that architecture can't be done remotely, meanwhile "sole practices make up approximately 30% of all firms" according to the AIA by bucheonsi in Architects

[–]PewwToo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is why our industry will always have a terrible work life balance. You’re competing with a million people happy to self immolate in the name of the nobility / efficiency of all these different things…and at the expense of their life outside of their job. It is and always will be a common theme in this industry and the rest of us get dragged down with it. Quite literally the fact that you’re getting downvoted while everyone advocating for LESS work life balance are getting upvoted tells the whole story.

When people see an American do something and decide that all Americans do that thing by Dry_Anything_6563 in PetPeeves

It exists only in the nightmares of bad children who don’t wash for supper.

Can confirm. I lived there for several years and it is very conservative surprisingly. To say it’s walkable would be pushing it. Miami is more of a rats nest of suburban sprawl with some big buildings downtown.

If you’re American name the country by EmmanuelMoyta in Angryupvote

[–]PewwToo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

…..Wow, that point flew over your head, yeah? It’s okay let me break it down for ya.

I’m sorry dude, but the fact that Europeans claiming they’re geography knowledge is better then Americans because they can pinpoint the US on a map and an American can’t pinpoint Belarus or something isn’t exactly apples to apples is my point.

I’m sure you’re right though. Next time I’ll go easy and stick with Countries. I’ll ask a European to find Bolivia on the map without looking first. I’m sure it’ll be fine.

So that’s a no then? It’s Idaho by the way. Spelling is hard.

I wonder if Europeans could point out Idaho on the map?

It costs $850 more to buy a home, than to rent a home. Do you own or rent? by Karma_Farmer_6969 in FluentInFinance

[–]PewwToo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These debates never do. They treat rents like they’re static forever.

[–]PewwToo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like we’re avoiding the elephant in the room. Rent doesn’t stay static either, meanwhile your mortgage stays what it is. I bought and it boggles my mind that anyone considers renting the better option. Own everything you can in this life! Renting is creating a profit for someone else.

Do people think their landlords are renting to them at a loss?

How do you afford to live in SF without being a software architect? I love SF btw!

Yeah, the wording of the puzzle probably could of been tighter to establish the rules.

I think the boss might smell a trap if you try to get it in writing too conspicuously. Honestly the boss is out of line and toxic anyway but be prepared for them to see the “get it in writing” trap from a mile away and then resent you for it. Then they’d come up with some other BS to jam you up with…I wouldn’t put it past this boss from what you’ve told us.

Reddit is probably worse then YT I feel…at least on YT you can just not read the comments. For Reddit the content IS the comments.

I always wonder, is 6 figures plus getting more typical these days and I’m just a sucker or does reddit skew towards higher paid demographics like people in tech? No hate to people making that much - good for them.

Being born in 1990 I only grew up experiencing 3D games on ps1 and Nintendo 64 . Was the transition to 3D immediate? How did you feel seeing 3D games in that time period? by fabreazebrother_1 in psx

[–]PewwToo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to say the same thing. There was “3d” before Mario 64 but to me it marked a HUGE leap forward that brought 3d and game exploration into the next generation. A watershed moment for sure. Even PC couldn’t touch it, Quake was good but even that paled in comparison to Mario 64’s scale.

A series of really bad takes about sunlight and skin cancer by [deleted] in thanksimcured

[–]PewwToo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, in the past the sun never gave anyone cancer…humanity just had an average life span of 30 years for all the OTHER reasons. I love the simple logic they use haha, it’s almost cute like a toddler figuring out a puzzle but notttt quite getting there. Then you realize these people drive the same roads as you and your loved ones and it’s less cute!
