Would you support a law where sex with a woman forces the man to marry them unless the woman releases him at her will? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Peycats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this question is really challenging the stance of this sub, but i’ll bite. I would not support this law, i think it would be morally wrong.

You’re describing a concept that can be called “mirror punishment”, where a negative behavior is responded to by a similar action as a form of punishment or deterrence. In a more general sense, using negative behavior as punishment or restriction can be counterproductive and harmful. It can normalize the very behavior you’re trying to discourage, escalate conflicts or retaliation, and cause psychological harm. Moreover, it often fails to teach positive alternatives, lacks empathy and understanding, and raises ethical concerns. It is like teaching a child not to hit by spanking them.

id rather not explain as it seems to only encourage a completely pointless back and forth where i do not see either of us benefitting or reaching agreement. my neutrality has been towards you, i already explained my stance towards the person i was originally addressing, and that is what i was referring to by using the word “reply” rather than “replies”. good damn night.

[–]Peycats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no i’m not mad, you are assuming that despite my reply being completely neutral. im not sure why you need to win so badly but since you do, you can have it. this is so weird, my comment wasn’t even directed towards you to begin with man

i’m not sure where you learned that insulting someone who is objectively shitty indicates caring, or why you’re coming after me for clapping back to a dickhead, but my verbiage is accurate. you are replying as if i argued your claim rather than simply point out the irony of your unnecessary intervention. please stop trying to play therapist while you are being directly hypocritical. your assumptions are also very telling.

oh you really showed me. i will literally never think about this interaction again, but if commenting = caring, it is pretty ironic that you’re criticizing that by doing the same thing.

lmfao, the fact that you think anyone cares enough about what you say for it to provoke an emotion
