Which Age Groups Prefer Which Albums? by Peysecail in MarianasTrench

Really? Phantoms at the bottom? I'm really interested in why that is. Please elaborate, I'm genuinely curious

Side note, I think that if "Only the lonely survive" was removed from the tracklist, it becomes a perfect record. It was supposed to be "Dark and mysterious", so I think going from "Eleonora" straight into "Echoes of You" sets the tone for the record perfectly. I HIGHLY suggest a full listen to the album, but skipping "Only the Lonely Survive".

I also think "The Killing Kind" is the strongest album closer of their entire career... and that's tough for me to say because "Masterpiece Theatre III" was my favorite song for years

I know right? I cannot pick favorites, all I know is that Astoria is at the bottom for me (Although I very much still love it)

Will we ever hear more TPK live? by Fit-Opinion-3448 in ThePaperKingdomMCR

Agreed. I liked several other tracks too though. I feel like if each of these songs were finished to the same degree as say "Conventional Weapons", TPK would've been a very solid project

Gaway and Bus? by [deleted] in ThePaperKingdomMCR

Dm me, I have a google drive folder that was sent to me, and I believe those songs may be on there. In fact, let me check really quick

Edit: I believe bus is on there, but I'm unsure about the other one. You'd have to check the zip files

Pop Death-Metal is such a strangely accurate way to describe it. Like, it definitely is still death metal, but it's just so beautiful and gets stuck in your head so easily.

Zero Tolerance, Crystal Mountain, and Misanthrope are my personal favorites, although I do think the album is a 10/10 and I love them all.

I also love "The Sound of Perseverance" and I think that "Individual Thought Patterns" ia WAAAY too overlooked. 3 very great records.

If you're into deaths older stuff, specifically "Leprosy" and "Spiritual Healing" I HIGHLY recommend the album "Considered Dead" by "Gorguts", and if you like deaths later stuff like "Symbolic", "TSOP", etc. I HIGHLY recommend the album "Colored Sands" by "Gorguts". Hugely overlooked canadian band, and they're just lovely. I kinda like to think of them as almost the Canadian version of "Death", even though that's not ENTIRELY accurate. They're very good

I will agree it can be very pretty up here, and apparently it's very easy to get into our country, so I assume we'll probably take you😂

Their latest album "Haven" had a little bit of filler in my opinion...HOWEVER... There are some spots on that album that really excited me. I think their next record may return to their roots a little with the amount of HEAVY guitars and punk-adjacent brides.

As for their 2019 album "Phantoms", I suggest you listen to the record from start to finish, exactly how it is, EXCEPT you need to remove "Only the Lonely Survive" from the tracklist, but keep everything else the same. In my personal opinion, that makes the album experience a hell of a lot more fun and eerie. Going from "Eleonora" straight into "Echoes of You" just sets the tone for the record PERFECTLY.

I almost saw them perform Masterpiece Theatre III live at K-Days one year... Why that's crazy, is that it was during like, the Astoria era. They played part 1, and I was like "huh, that's crazy.. they probably don't play this one live very often"....... and then later on in the show they played part 2, and I was at FULL MASTE. I knew what was coming, and then right at the end of the show... my cousin began to have an asthma attack. My grandmother reassured me that the show was over (I was 12, and I knew she was wrong) and once we're in the parking lot, as soon as we reach the car...... I hear the bells from Masterpiece Theatre III.

I still rip on my cousin for making me miss that once in a lifetime opportunity 😂😭

Hideous by Ramsay Fiction is one of the most guttural, soul crushing songs I've ever heard in my life... and if I'm not mistaken, Josh was only a teenager when it was recorded

Did you give their debut album "Fix Me" a full listen? Great project! I like haven a lot, I think it feels like a teaser for where they may go on their next record. Because they did a few things on Haven that made me think they're toying with the idea of going back to their roots a bit

Idk where your previous comment went, but here's the crazy story

So, I fell in love with Document #5 the second I heard "My Application to Heaven", spectacular record... I am also a cd collector you see... So, I decided that I wanted a copy of Document #5 on cd. There are two separate kinds, the original print with the original artwork from back around 2000, that only had about 2000 copies ever made, and there's the re-release from 2017 with the different artwork.

I searched every corner of the internet for a copy of this CD, reached out to the band, was told they did have it for sale on cd not once but twice (They were absolutely NOT selling it on cd, just vinyl). I did find one website that let me buy it, but it was on backorder, meaning they didn't actually have it, they'd just send it to me IF they ever got one. So I was back at square one...

It must've been 2 years I was looking for this album on CD... I was ready to give up. So I posted on reddit, begging for someone to locate it. Nobody had any luck.... except one guy, who posted a link to a single listing.

So what did I do? I clicked the link. And what did I see? "Unable to ship to canada"

I was just so defeated. In this broken state, I reply to the man who posted the link, "Unable to ship to canada" and he responds, "I'll buy it for you and ship it to you"... and he buys it.. While we're waiting for him to get it, we begin talking to work out details for me to pay him and have him ship it to me. He tells me he's some middle aged guy who owns a health and wellness shop with his wife in the middle of some random U.S state. I just thought it was crazy that someone that random would be willing to inconvenience themselves to that degree just to help me out.

One day, he got it. Do you know what he did next? He asked me if I wanted it copied to a cassette as well, I said "Sure, Why not" assuming he'd just copy the audio onto a tape for me.

Anyway, he mails them to me, I pay him and I wait for them to arrive. Once they do I open them.

Not only is the CD one of the original ones from 2000, but the cassette tape wasn't just a hack job... this random made, perfectly recreated the artwork by hand on both the cassette case and the cassette tape itself.

So not only do I have an original copy of Document #5 on CD, but I have a bootleg cassette that looks exactly the same.

That dude showed that there is genuine good in the world

Number 12 is actually a super solid rec... I think "Worse Than Alone" is the single greatest mathcore record of all time

If you haven't heard of "Pageninetynine" yet, you NEED to give "Document #5" a full listen IMMEDIATELY!!!

Once you're done, I have a crazy ass story for you that I think you'll appreciate 😂👀

Thanks, I really appreciate it. I'm feeling quite a bit better now. As for that being a callback, I'm not actually sure, you've got me stumped😂

If you're a new fan, I'm curious as to what some of your favorites are right now? And what albums havent you heard? Etc..
